Tanaria

Tanaria is a world of breathtaking landscapes and deep-seated histories, defined by its four unique continents: Arandor, Zalhara, Drakoria, and Vandalar. Each offers a rich tapestry of natural wonders, cultural diversity, and untold mysteries.   Arandor, detailed in its own right, is a continent of stark contrasts, from the icy fjords and towering mountains of its northern reaches to the sprawling deserts and lush jungles in its central and eastern regions. Its southern plains and western forests create temperate, fertile lands, while its massive mountain ranges serve as the spine of the continent, dividing its people and fostering distinct cultures.   Drakoria stands out for its connection to ancient draconic magic, which has shaped its geography and ecosystems. Towering mountain ranges, dense forests, rolling hills, vast plains, and expansive swamps dominate its terrain, with each region reflecting the influence of a Dragon aspect. These powerful beings left their mark on the land, infusing it with magic that continues to influence life on the continent. Drakoria is a land of resilience, where natural beauty and primal power coexist.   Zalhara is wild and untamed, a land where nature reigns supreme. Vast marshlands, dense forests, and treacherous mountain ranges define much of the continent, offering a haven for beasts and untamed magic. The exception is the southern region, ruled by the kingdom of Valoria, a hub of progress and magecraft. Valoria’s structured society and advancements contrast starkly with the raw, untamed nature of the rest of Zalhara, creating a unique dynamic on the continent.   Vandalar is ancient and shrouded in mystery, believed to have been shaped by the gods themselves. Its landscapes are dramatic and awe-inspiring, from volcanic peaks and jagged coastlines to lush forests and serene meadows. The divine influence is said to be evident in every corner, making Vandalar a place of great reverence and power. Its ancient ruins and sacred sites draw scholars and adventurers seeking to uncover its divine past.   Together, the continents of Tanaria form a world of unparalleled diversity and wonder. Each land offers a distinct identity, shaped by its geography, magic, and history, making Tanaria a realm of endless possibility and adventure.   The oceans and waterways of Tanaria are as vital and diverse as its continents, shaping the geography, trade, and cultures of its inhabitants. At the heart of the world lies the Mesowet Ocean, a central expanse connecting the continents. It serves as the primary route for trade and exploration, with its waters bustling with ships carrying goods, travelers, and adventurers between the diverse regions of Tanaria. The Mesowet Ocean is also home to countless islands, some rich with resources and others cloaked in mystery.   To the south, the Orendar Ocean stretches into the unknown, its vast waters often described as the edge of the world. Rich in myths and perilous to navigate, it remains largely unexplored, with only the most daring sailors venturing into its depths. The Frostmere Ocean to the north contrasts sharply, its icy waters and harsh winds dominating the northern coasts of continents like Arandor and Vandalar. Known for its treacherous icebergs and relentless storms, the Frostmere Ocean challenges even the most seasoned sailors.   The Thessenar Ocean spans the opposite side of the continents, offering fertile fishing grounds and calmer trade routes. Its waters are dotted with small archipelagos, many serving as waypoints for maritime travelers. Each ocean and waterway in Tanaria plays a vital role in shaping the climates and economies of its continents, creating a network of connections across the world.   These vast oceans also host unique ecosystems, from the coral reefs of tropical waters to the deep-sea trenches hiding ancient secrets. Together, they form the lifeblood of Tanaria, uniting its lands and shaping its history.
