AoD 2025 Newsletter #5 - The Free City of Vynn & The Quest for Tiran's Shield

Hello friends, in today's newsletter I will share some new lore articles relevant to the campaign's setting, and go over the chronicles of our last one shot "The Quest for Tiran's Shield"

AoD 2025 Newsletter #5- The Free City of Vynn & The Quest for Tiran's Shield // 3/3/2025

The Free City of Vynn

The main article for The Free City of Vynn is now publicly available for everyone to read. It is not as polished as I would have hoped, but I figured that the information there is important and useful enough to be shared at this stage. It doesn't make sense for me to withhold it just because the presentation is not yet perfect.

In this article you will be able to learn a bit more about the city's political and social structure, as well as its physical layout. As usual, if you have any questions or want to learn further details you can ask me directly.

The Quest for Tiran's Shield

As you know, a few days ago we played in a one shot called "The Quest of Tiran's Shield" which introduced several important lore elements. All the events, characters, items, organizations and locations you experienced there are canon for the year 57 AoD, and have been recorded in this wiki. Not all articles are fully fleshed out, some will still grow or have their presentation polished. You might find that a lot of information is repeated across these articles, this is intentional, the idea being that each article should have enough context to stand on its own.

I will now list all relevant articles that came from the one-shot, or have information relevant to it:

And there we go, your deeds have been written down and have shaped history. Hopefully one day we will all be able to look fondly at a wiki filled with the stories we have experienced, and see how they all interact to create a real, living world.

Regarding the Main Campaign

My university classes will resume soon, which will naturally take a toll on my ability to write, plan, and play D&D. It should not be so bad as to force me to stop entirely, but we will see.

As it stands your characters are mostly complete, the main campaign hooks are outlined and the setting is developed enough to host it. However, it might be wise to keep it to just one-shots for now, and to leave the campaign for the summer when everyone will, hopefully, have a lot more time to play. I would like to hear your opinions on this.
