Personal history
Tray grew up an athlete who excelled at sports and was involved in programming classes since he was a child. But his true passion was magic, he loved the mysteries of it and always hoped it was real. He spent years trying to track down real magic but he never found it, he had given up scholarships and jobs to pursue it. He could never find anything, feeling bitter and angry and at his wasted life and years of people mocking him. He decided to make his own magic, he stole and repurposed tech from different companies to create technological magic.
But the corporations he stole from are powerful and had enough pull to keep him on the laws radar permanently. So he constantly steals, fights and recruits people to help him deal with his enemies.

Education
He was taught how to program at a young age and started teaching his self everything else at 16, he became an incredibly talented programmer over the years.

He never found out that magic was real. To be fair it was more that he couldn't do magic at all, so he would not admit to his self that it was real. He's seen real magic done in front of him numerous times, but his ego does not allow him to recognize it for what it is. So he makes up some excuse for it in his head as to why it's the same kind of tech magic he does.

Determined to a fault, he doesn't shy away from hard tasks or challenges. The whole of his villain career is because of his this. His pursuit of real magic, has eclipsed his capacity for reason.
