Dipló Cruz (dee-plo cruise)
Diplo Cruz is the oldest and largest locheío of Dolce Vita. This inn is a wonderful place for folks of all walks of life to sit down, get something in their stomachs, and relax. If you need somewhere to rest your head for the night, they’ll more than likely have you covered too.
Purpose / Function
Like many locheío of Dolce Vita, Dipló Cruz is an inn open to travelers and the occasional tourist. Able to sleep 44 with a dining hall that can feed at least 60 at once, this establishment can host a large number of people at a time (compared to your average locheío).
- 2 Rooms that can sleep a group of 5 (2 bunk beds, 1 twin-sized bed)
- 4 Rooms that can sleep a group of 4 (4 twin sized beds)
- 6 Rooms that can sleep anywhere from 1-3 people (1 queen sized bed that can sleep 2, 1 couch)
Alterations
Surprisingly, Dipló Cruz has had minimal alterations since its construction. Most work done on the building has been repairs to the building itself, rather than expansions or remodeling.
Architecture
A sturdy 3-floored building made of brick and dense wooden support beams. The walls are covered with a plaster to protect the brick from the elements as well as to give it a smoother finish, while keeping the beams visible and giving the place a rustic and cozy look.
Defenses
The walls are thick and solid, and while there are locks on the doors of Dipló Cruz, they are rarely used. However, one of the members of the Víboleco family will always be awake and always on guard to protect their home and their visitors. This is often the brothers Vasilios and Espero, and both will defend Dipló Cruz fiercely if it ever comes down to it. Though, if anyone gives the locheío or its family trouble, it won't take very long for the local Batters to do something about it. That is, if the brothers don’t do anything first.
History
At the beginning of Dolce Vita, Dipló Cruz was built as a way to accommodate travelers and workers, and it’s been that way since. Offering food and shelter for many, it has stayed under the care of the Víboleco family from day one.
Tourism
Tourists of all sorts come to Dipló Cruz, often to eat some of the food that has gained reputation, or just to see such a historic monument for Dolce Vita and Octant Dionysus. Thankfully those who visit do not have to look far to find a place to sleep. On occasion, people have been known to find their way to Dipló Cruz to seek out the restorative effects of the food made by a Vitae Mage such as the members of the Víboleco family.
