Zander Chalister
Maximilian is a scientist who's Laboratory, Gearspire_Institute, sits at the top of the Hound's_Tooth near the city of Grimbric. He heads the research at this institute and studies things from various fields. But he has a specific interest in the artificial fabrication of Soul-Steam which has led to some... less than moral practices. Because he has found that Soul-Steam can be extracted from a living soul he has a set of "test-subjects" that he wishes to experiment on.
He is also missing an arm as a part of a previous successful experiment where he lobbed off his own arm and threw it into his device and was successful in creating artifical Soul-Steam

Personal history
Born to a prosperous family Maximilian has lived a posh life compared to most other Moonkin but that isn't to say his life has been without struggles. He still had to painstakingly work with the likes of the Mained Cats. But eventually he did finally finish his great grandfather's laboratory.
Intellectual Characteristics
- There are very few things that Maximilian will shy away from, his life has taught him to be incredibly bold and he will rarely back down from a challenge. But when he needs to test a theory or fight for his rights, he does so in a calculated manor and rarely goes in without a plan.
- Maximilian has earned his pride in himself and his abilities, he knows that he is plenty capable of doing most anything that he puts his mind too. This does lead him to being isolated because of this pride but he finds that at times, other people simply aren't worth it.
- As a scientist and lead researcher he is very knowledgeable in most things regarding the wonder filled world of Novidera. Though this had led to some experiments being less than ethical most notably, his experimentation on the artificial creation of Soul-Steam .
- He believes himself to be a selfless person, donating occasionally to charities or allowing strangers to use his facilities to further their personal research. But most times when he does these things there is a deeper motive, building trust with an organization so he can manipulate what they work on for his benefit, or tricking people into working on his experiments for him.
- More than anything, Maximilian hates, the Mained Cats and has a distinct sense of Moonkin pride. He believes that their rule has greatly corrupted and ruined much of Moonkin society. He believes that they should be forcefully removed from the Nine's Republic or be purged.
Morality & Philosophy
In a phrase. "Skewed by righteous intent"
He believes that the research he is doing, no matter how grim, is in the end for the benefit of Moonkin society. However he takes these inhumane experiments as far as the natural laws of the world will allow leading to much unnecessary death in the pursuit of science.
