Amber Island
The island east off of Kayotia, and most furthest out of the two. It is disputed if it truly counts as part of Kayotia, or its own entity, but regardless was a part in its civil conflicts and integrated in Rekettan imperial culture. Its a large land, with a collapsed-in volcano marking the center, surrounded by thick forest lands, and an exterior of grassy tropics. Much of its soil is surprisingly well-off for everything from rice, to sugar cane, and has been a huge part the empire's food and trade. Its namesake comes from the Rekettan Amber Rum made on the island by the royal family. Its smaller formations off the main shore, have gone to use as military outposts for keeping out pirates, or to catch supplies that would profit the enemy kingdoms.
In olden times of the Kayotian civil war, there existed three island kings that all fought to unite the turf, and own the land and sea. In the end, the desert queen Kesi'iloquet fought hard and ended the western portion of the conflict fast enough to force an allied truce off the Amber island, short lived with a trap from the empress that killed one of the kings and their inner council. The weak remainder was done away by human pirates, forcing the Princess-suddenly-made-queen Turro'ki surrender. She bitterly complied, and her efforts were romanticized in tales as being a beacon of peace and prosperity that gives to the Rekettan people. As such, some islanders are viewed as those of peace and charity, though underlying conspiracies also exist of a rebellion in Turro'ki's spirit.
