Kayotian Golden Desert

The name of most of the large desert at the western side of the Kayotian continent. Sometimes it is divided by two depending on local decision, with the smaller northern parts that sink inwards, and host to various odd rock and skeletal formations of ancient past are referred to as either the "Bone Lands" or "Nolands" and the slightly more generous lower parts being considered the main or southern golden desert. Its surrounded by dry grasslands for the more part, with the northern tip past the Nolands going into more colder mountain terrain. It is not far off from south-west shores.   It was once a place ripe with human and Rekettan outposts, and forming kingdoms, however the Reketta proved stronger and by the imperial period had managed to evict, kill, or enslave most of the human residents. By the turning millennia, it was later renamed to The Imperial Desert, which persisted even after the empire's fall.
