Other calendars are actively tracked (notably, the Vecu calendar, the Ruartei Calendar and the Juridical Calendar), but the main calendar is the local calendar.
- The main calendar uses local days and is roughly based on the cycles of the moon, but stays in sync with the stellar year by adding an extra leap day as needed.
- The day is 26 Earth hours, and the day is divided up into 5 shifts of 5 hours with the 26th hour added to the last shift. As is traditional throughout much of the Grand Society, the first hour of the day starts in the morning.
- The year is 868 local days long and divided into 22 months. The first 21 months have 40 days and the last month has 28 days (29 in leap years).
- Each regular month has 5 weeks with 8 days each. The last month has 3 weeks and a half week (5 days in leap years). The days of the week are consistent from year to year — the weekday names of the last partial week are skipped over at the end of the year so the new year always starts on the first weekday name.
- There are 6 seasons, each lasting 145 days — seasons are Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Freeze, and Thaw.
- As per Caelorian tradition, the local calendar marks its years from the first day of the Spring season following The Great Star Storm.

Origin of Name (Earth)
Etruscan. Sethlans was the god of fire, the forge, metalworking, and by extension craftsmanship in general. He may be identified by his tools, the hammer and tongs of the blacksmith, and by the pileus or conical cap he wears.Key Facts
