Initially recruited around the age of 5 to become a Jedi, Tuniz left that life behind when she fell in love with Bennek and became pregnant with Sovo and Orvinn. The two of them became pirates in their early years together in order to immediately financially support their budding family, and when Ria was born, they settled down on Eshan out of fear the Jedi would sense her strong Force capabilities.
After never telling their children who they were, Ria was denied the opportunity to leave Eshan and become a Jedi. However, Tuniz's unwillingness to let her daughter go led to Ria forsaking her name and leaving anyway.
