Plana
When the free-floating points attracted to a Lina begin attaching themselves to its sides, rather than its ends, the Lina transitions to the Plana phase of its iteration.
Plana are now fully aware of their external environment and the existence of other beings who may or may not compliment their own frequency, though they still retain the rigid, inflexible attitude of their prior Lina stage. Acceptable new ideas are strongly internalized, while those which interfere with their personal frequencies are rejected out-of-hand. These preferences help their essence to develop a nuanced pattern for the base of their eventual Concretian and Triturative forms of this iteration.
As 2-dimensional beings, Plana have no internal surface area in a 3d world, so they cannot hide their thoughts from the higher-stage Matholiths. Even other Planes can "see" one another's internal contents, unless they both happen to be on the exact same level.

The two-dimensional sub-species of the Ashtrays tend to be both passionate and fickle.
