All consortium controlled Alpha class ships appear in orbit of Earth, demanding the surrender of the United Earth Alliance to the Terran Imperium. The Alliance initially refuses until their meager defensive fleet is swept aside.
All consortium controlled Alpha class ships appear in orbit of Earth, demanding the surrender of the United Earth Alliance to the Terran Imperium. The Alliance initially refuses until their meager defensive fleet is swept aside.
Raphael Gerard officially becomes Emperor of the Terran Imperium, with Damien Carruthers Prime Minister and Leon Thomason Consul of Internal Affairs.
The First Convention of Worlds accepts the Imperial Charter decreed when the Alliance was overthrown, establishing both the Royal and Imperial Houses.
The Terran Imperium begins construction of the Beta class, an enlarged and more advanced version of the Alpha class.
Damien Carruthers is found guilty of corrpution and imprisoned. Contrary to the agreement of 719, Hugo Gerard becomes Prime Minister rather than Michael Thomason. As Hugo Gerard has no practical experience in government, Leon Thomason is asked to come out of retirement to train him, assuming the duties of Acting Prime Minister.
Hugo Gerard ascends the throne, taking the name Gerard II.
Leon Thomason is reported to have died. His contingency plan now takes effect and the nanobots obtained secretly from Anatos activate. He leaves Earth on a modified Beta class ship.
The Terran Imperium first encounters a Solarian trade caravan.
The Kingdom of Solaria signs a fair trade agreement with the Terran Imperium

Emperor Alexander II grants residency rights to all those still within Mykentian Sanctuaries, allowing them to return to their worlds in exchange for an oath of loyalty to the Imperium.
Alexander III takes the throne
Alexander III killed in an industrial accident while inspecting the new Imperial Flagship. Alexander IV takes the throne.
Emperor Alexander IV grants "Home Rule" status to non-human worlds, allowing them to govern their worlds as they wish, as long as they continue to pay Imperial taxes as "protectorates."
The Terran Imperium purchases the design for the Solaria Class Cruiser from the Kingdom of Solaria, in exchange for ten worlds bordering Solarian territory.
Alexander IV is removed by the Convention of Houses after increasing taxes for the third time without actually spending the revenue. Johnathan Thomason is elected Emperor and takes the name Traian, acknowledging that the Imperium is loosely based on the Roman Principate.
Emperor Traian orders the design and construction of a new dreadnaught class warship, as well as escort ships to accompany it to modernize the Imperial Navy.
Emperor Traian restructures all taxes to a flat 10% in each category, and issues an edict restructuring Imperial citizenship into residents, citizens, and subjects. Each is based on merit or contributions to the whole of the Imperium, and grants different levels of legal protection and rights.
Traian is assassinated, and Maximian Carruthers is elected when Vincent Thomason refuses to take the throne. Thomason will remain in office as Prime Minister.
Vincent Thomason is executed for treason in what is popularly held to be a show trial with no evidence.
House Thomason relocates its command HQ to Centadi.
Maximian I commits suicide to allow Maximian II to ascend the throne when it becomes clear he is becoming unfit for office.
House Gerard storms the Imperial Palace and forces Maximian II to abdicate at gunpoint. Jean Gerard ascends the throne as Gerard V.
House Thomason relocates its command HQ to Remus.
Houses allied with House Carruthers depose Gerard V, brutally executing him on the throne. Claudius II claims the throne, gruesomely stepping on the remains of Gerard V to do so. He then hunts down all members of the Gerard family for execution. Only Theodore Gerard, fourth in line of succession, and living in exile on Centadi under the protection of House Thomason escapes, with Louis Gerard imprisoned on Terra as a hostage due to his young age.
Carruthers v Gerard (Thomason silent allies)
Leviathan Class Fleetship is approved, and proves to be an immediate disaster with the first two prototypes exploding.
Terran Imperium invades the Kingdom of Solaria, meeting no resistance whatsoever. Upon reaching Solaria, they announce the annexation of the Kingdom. The Queen informs them that they only had to ask and spare themselves the expense of major fleet operations.
Claudius II is executed for tyranny and treason agains the Imperium. The execution is infamously done with such short notice that the former Emperor was sitting on the toilet of his cell, and did not even have time to stand.
The elderly Theodore Gerard is named Emperor in a compromise by the Convention of Houses, ascending the throne as Theodosius IV.
Emperor Theodosius IV, already old when assuming the throne, has begun showing clear signs of dementia. The Convention of Houses agrees to allow him to symbolically remain on the throne, while the popular Prince Constantius, who has just come of age, will serve as both Prime Minister and Prince Regent.
Monsos forces black out all communications from the Eastern Frontier to Centadi, striking Vaga Pacum, Solaria, and Trantonos simultaneously. The ships are of a type never encountered before, and the Imperial Fleet struggles to discover just who, and what they are. Fleet Admiral Adex, facing them at Solaria, dubs them "assault carriers" due to their high speed, heavy weapons, and fighter capacity. Meanwhile, Fleet Command on Terra has no idea anything is even happening.
The forward Fleet Supply Depot at Lucania falls in the first attack. Fleet Admiral Adex sends couriers to the last known positions of Imperial forces in an attempt to coordinate a defense. Scattered units falling back send confused reports back to Fleet Command once out of jamming range. Fleet Command assumes it is increased pirate activity and that the ships are simply over reacting.
Prince Regent Constantius is visiting a new fleet command headquarters at Antoska, intended to be the primary fleet command center for the region. Receiving vague reports of trouble, he turns back for Terra aboard Imperator.
The fleet facility used for the modification of the Leviathan Class Fleetship is attacked, the personnel escaping on the barely functioning L-666 "Lucifer." Fleet Admiral Adex catches up with them at Centauria as he tries to reach Centadi to warn them of what is coming.
Galatos Ambassador Andrew Thomason travels to Monsos to try and get Monsos to either break off or scale down their assault on the Terran Imperium. Monsos reminds him that they intervened in the war against the Restoration Republic with the assurance that the Triad would not interfere in a war with non-Triad successor states.
Fleet Command has finally pieced together enough information to brief the Emperor, who is suffering from dementia. Theodosius agrees to their planned counterattack. They do not bother informing the Prince Regent.
At a meeting on Anatos, it is decided that Galatos can not intervene in the war between the Imperium and Monsos.
The Imperial Fleet discovers Monsos possesses wormhole technology when Monsos opens a wormhole behind their battle line and throws in 140 assault carriers in a single, simutaneous transit. Bablos houses the largest shipyards in the Imperium, and is responsible for the construction of Leviathan Class Fleetships.
Galatos Ambassador Mark Thomason informs the Consul of Foreign Affairs of the Imperium that Galatos is unable to offer the Imperium assistance in its current conflict, but leaves the reasons vague and offers no information. He then immediately returns to Anatos.
Prince Regent Constantius finally receives a briefing on the war, not from Fleet Command, but from Ambassador Mark Thomason. He is informed that Galatos cannot intervene in the war, but the Ambassador makes veiled suggestions during the meeting. He points out that Monsos lost its entire shipbuilding capacity during the war with the Restoration Republic, and is now totally dependent on its partnership with Mansos for construction. Thomason suggests that if enough damage can be done to Monsos forces, then Mansos may be able to gain dominance in the partnership and can then be negotiated with.
The offensive suddenly halts along a line from Bablos, through Centadi, to the outer rim. Fleet Command believes the enemy is engaged in mopping up operations behind the front line with heavy fleet units to secure their position before resuming the offensive. Commodore Black of Special Operations arrives at Centadi from Outpost Sigma, a frontier post where he had been assigned to monitor for an impending attack.
Theodosius IV dies on Terra, and the Admiralty immediately launches a coup against Prince Regent Constantius. Lord High Admiral Hollister is named High Lord and Protector of the Imperium, while Constantius is crowned Emperor on the command ship Imperator in orbit of Campania. Emperor Constantius names Anthony Adex Grand Admiral.
Galatos recognizes Constantius as the legitimate Emperor of the Terran Imperium, and grants him permission to travel across their space to reach Terra more quickly.
Monsos forces pursue Adex to Centadi, chasing him into the planetary defenses which they were unaware had been substantially reinforced. Now outside of the jamming, Adex confers with the sluggish Fleet Command, who finally realizes what is actually happening.
Imperial fleet launches a counterattack from Centadi, spearheaded by thirty Leviathan Class Fleetships. The attack on Centauria fails. There are no survivors.
Fleet Admiral Scholz defeats Hollister in the Battle of Saturn, but is killed in the battle.
Monsos strikes Abdera, where twenty Leviathan Class Fleetships are gathered to receive new fighters. All are destroyed, along with the orbital factories and yards.
Grand Admiral Adex proposes Operation Thunderbolt to Emperor Constantius, who issues an Imperial Edict placing the forces of all Imperial Houses under the Grand Admiral's command. Adex immediately begins moving all available forces to Terra in preparation.
Monsos launches coordinated strikes on all fronts.
Monsos targets and destroys the reactor repair and refueling station at Io.
Grand Admiral Adex informs Constantius that the fleet cannot stand and they must advance Operation Thunderbolt as quickly as possible with the forces currently available.
Emperor Constantius sends a diplomatic message to Monsos, stating "I will not let the galaxy burn again just as it has started to heal. Come to Terra in five days and fight us face to face, one on one, to the death, and let us be done with this."
Monsos halts all offensive action and Adex rushes all forces to Terra as quickly as he can.
Monsos forces arrive in orbit of Terra, facing the entire Imperial Fleet, plus the few House ships that were able to arrive in time. Emperor Constantius places Imperator in the center of the Imperial line to draw fire on himself. With their attention fixed on him, Monsos fails to notice the Imperial ships slingshotting from behind the moon at low power. They spot them at the last moment as they enter range of the planetary defenses, but Adex has already brought his ships to full power and has focused all fire on the Monsos fleet carrier. The Monsos command ship is destroyed, and the Monsos forces momentarily break in disarray. At this moment, Constantius drives forward into the middle of the Monsos fleet, firing on all sides as the Imperial fleet follows him in. The Monsos fleet breaks, falling back to regroup as another fleet carrier enters. As the Imperial fleet reorganizes for a fresh attack, the Mansos fleet carrier signals Imperator to negotiate an armistice.
Grand Admiral Adex reports that only 236 ships remain combat worthy in the entire Imperial Fleet. The Imperial House Fleets are immediately ordered back to their home territories to take up the defense of the Imperium while the fleet scrambles to repair what it can and begin new construction.
Admiral Otto Rauschning of Special Operations deposes Constantius and declares himself Emperor. Constantius secretly escapes to Remus.
Emperor Rauschning issues an edict abolishing the Imperial Houses. Extensive new taxes are imposed to fund the reconstruction of the Imperial Fleet, pointedly directly on the citizens in the largely undeveloped new territories that were untouched by the Monsos War, rather than on the Imperial Houses which control the worlds.
A military pact is formed between Monsos, Mansos, and the minor successor state of Lezinaf.
Anthony Adex resigns as Grand Admiral of the Terran Imperium and goes into retirement on Centadi.
An unsanctioned Convention of Worlds is called on Remus. Imperial Guard shock troops are sent to arrest the representatives. The representatives are arrested on charges of treason against the Imperium, and Remus is bombed by the 10th Fleet. Nearly one million civilians are killed in the bombing.
A new Convention of Worlds is held in secret aboard Leviathan-1, where representatives of nearly half the Imperium unanimously declare independence. Former Emperor Constantius arrives at the meeting, bringing a proposal for a new constitution. The proposal is adopted, and Constantius becomes Princeps of the new Remian Republic.
Galatos recognizes the independence of the Remian Republic. Centos merely "recognizes a changing state of affairs," and reminds both the Imperium and new Republic that its borders are closed.
Former Grand Admiral Adex defects to the Remian Republic, convincing a number of fleet units to join him, including the modified Leviathan Class Fleetships Bismarck and Lucifer.
Anthony Adex is appointed Grand Admiral of the Remian Republic by Princeps Constantius with the approval of the Senate.
The obsolete, first generation cruisers readily available to the Remian Republic are no match for the Imperial 10th Fleet, spearheaded by "disposable" Leviathan Class Fleetships.
Grand Admiral Adex begins to organize the Remian 1st Fleet, to consist entirely of the existing Solaria Class Cruisers, as well as the first Remus Class Battlecruisers and Liberator Class Assault Carriers.
Adex orders the construction of a new fleet base in a newly charted asteroid field which contains the remains of a number of First Republic warships. This will be Remian Fleet Command, as the Imperium does not have the location on their charts.
Facing stiff resistance between Remus and the border with Galatos, the Imperial Fleet goes through the periphery to attack the Remian Republic from the rear. They are repelled by the Remian "Undead Squadron," composed of hastily repaired Mykentian ships from the Athnos system.
Imperial 14th Fleet is decimated by the Remian 1st Fleet, which unexpectedly pursues and targets the Imperial supply depot at Silinia.
Lacking the resources for many pitched battles, Adex takes the Remian 1st Fleet and goes on a rampage in the Imperial rear lines, targetting supply depots, munitions carriers, and small groups of ships coming to reinforce the front.
The Remian 1st Fleet appears at the Terra jump beacon, only destroying a small number of defense satellites before jumping away. Emperor Rauschning is enraged and presonally assumes command of the fleet from Imperator and heads to the front in person.
Learning the location of Remian Fleet Command, Emperor Rauschning immediately attacks. Unaware that the budget strapped Adex has rigged simple missile batteries and fighter bays directly onto asteroids, the Imperial Grand Armada walks head first into a trap. Once engaged, Adex himself engages with the Remian 1st fleet and the "Undead Squadron." Rauschning is forced to fall back.
While covertly assisting the Remian Republic with R&D, Mark Thomason successfully hacks the Mykentian planetary defense network, gaining full control of the system.
Landing on Mykentia, the Remian survey expedition finds Legionnaires from the Legion of Mykentos guarding the Tomb. Mark Thomason immediately signals Galatos that the Legion is still there.
A delegation from the Triad including Andrew Thomason arrives on Mykentia. As the Triad never responded to the surrender of the Second Republic, the representatives of the Triad offer their surrender "to the Legion of Mykentos of the Mykentian Republic." The Legion informs them that as they formally withdrew from the Republic, the members of the Triad are considered foreign powers, and as such cannot surrender to the Legion, only to the Republic. They reveal that there are representatives of the member Sanctuaries of the Restoration Republic meeting secretly in a nearby system, and offer to summon them. The Triad reluctantly agrees.
Representatives of the Allied Sanctuaries of the Restoration Republic, the Remian Republic, and the Triad meet in the old Assembly Hall to discuss the current situation. All agree to recognize the independence of the Remian Republic, the joint rehabilitation of Mykentia itself, as well as a restoration of the Mykentian Republic as it stood at the moment it offered surrender to the Triad. In negotiating government positions, Mark Thomason suggested a compromise to help legitimize the new Republic in a vastly changed galaxy. Constantius resigns as Princeps of the Remian Republic, and is elected Hilt of the Mykentian Republic. He immediately contacts Emperor Rauschning, announcing the restoration of the Mykentian Republic as well as its neutrality, and offering to meet with him in orbit to negotiate a truce between the Imperium and Remian Republic.
With the Capital of the Republic unsuitable for negotiatons, a treaty is negotiated aboard Leviathan-1 to recognize the independence of the Remian Republic from the Terran Imperium. Upon signing the treaty, Emperor Rauschning immediately states that the one responsible for the militant crackdowns and conditions that led to the conflict was Prime Minister Black. He immediately charges Black with a long list of crimes, including multiple counts of high treason and genocide, and condemns him to death by spacing. The sentence is carried out immediately in front of the shocked delegates.
All members of the Antoskan Military Pact recognize the independence of the Remian and Mykentian Republics.
Fulfilling an agreement made by Constantius as Princeps, the Kingdom of Byzantium, Freehold of Carpathia, Free Republic of Sonderia, Zafkarn Alliance, Zifarq Military Alliance, and the Recanan Republic are granted independence by the Remian Republic.
The Zifarq Military Republic joins the Antoskan Military Pact.
Under the leadership of the Mykentian Republic, the Free Republic of Sonderia, Freehold of Carpathia, and Zafkarn Alliance form the Council of Non-Aligned powers and declare their neutrality in any conflict.
Clinia, Arago, Atlantia, and Sparta sectors all fall to the Monsos advance within 2 days.
Caught completely by surprise and utterly overwhelmed, the Kingdom of Byzantium falls in just under three hours.
Backed by Monsos Assault Carriers, the Zifarq Military Alliance occupies the Alania, Albion, and Kredos sectors, and push deep into the Recanan Republic.
The Terran Imperium, Remian Republic, Recanan Republic, and Kingdom of Byzantium (in exile) for the Galactic Alliance for Defense. The Imperial Fleet is immediately granted permission to cross Remian space.
Rauschning II becomes Emperor.
Rauschning III becomes Emperor.
The Terran Imperium officially becomes the Terran Republic.
