Remus Class Battlecruiser

The Remus class battlecruiser was designed by Remus Design Company under the name “Project Sky Castle.” The company was best known for designing star liners and luxury yachts, so very few suspected what the ship actually was, even as the prototypes were being tested. Derived from the Solaria Class Cruiser, the Remus class was designed for long range patrols of the less densely populated outer regions of the Imperium and would appear alongside the Liberator class at the end of the Terran Civil War.   Designed to operate independently, the Remus class included two squadrons of the first generation of drone fighters as well as the newly conceived escort pods. Intended to eliminate the blind spot created by engine ionization, the escort pods would circle the ship and relay sensor information the ship itself could not see. They could also be sent ahead to scout behind asteroids, moons, or planets for possible ambushes.   The Terran Imperium expressed interest in the Remus class, but as the ship was the main capital ship of the Remian Republic, they were unable to commission the ships themselves. The escort pod technology would be shared and be included in the fourth generation of Titan Class Dreadnaught .   Following the reunification of the Mykentian Republic, the Remian fleet would be redesignated as the rapid response forces, and the Remus class would remain in production until the end of the First Enmalex War.
