Northside

A haven for breakaway cults, the Northside is where a great many of the city’s poor reside. Hab blocks and container parks stretch on for miles, and strange ritualistic processions chanting about the end of days frequently make their way through the district. The Northside is also home to a local Greenfields farming operation staffed largely by convicts and prisoners of war whose contracts have been purchased by the megacorp.   In the aftermath of the death of Saint Ophelia, the streets of North Neo Vegas have been wracked with riots, forcing Greenfields to call in the NVPD to pacific the district. Riot police patrol the streets in and around Greenfields holdings, and the scent of tear gas is commonplace. In addition, Saint Ophelia appears to have foreseen her own demise, and has pre-recorded multiple messages to be played on hijacked public notice boards in the district, sowing further tensions amongst an alread-incited populace.

Points of interest

Greenfields Eden7 Complex - A massive, multi-block food production arco-complex, Eden7 is one of the main employers in the district. Thousands of employees file in and out each day tending to the multi-tiered farming operation, which is tightly controlled by Greenfields and its cult-like subordinates. Many of the employees choose to reside on-site, while many others have no choice due to poverty or indenture contracts.
Villa Camarata - A housing arcology for Greenfields employees, Villa Camaratta is one of the more secure residences in North Las Vegas. Many middle-class Greenfielders reside here in the sanctified halls of the Villa, riding a private rail service directly into the Eden7 Complex. Life within the Villa is peaceful, serene, well-appointed and highly surveilled and controlled.   The Raveyard - A massive entertainment centre featuring multiple dance-halls, arcades and entertainment centres catering to low-income residents, the Raveyard parties day and night. This is also the main turf of the Ghuls, who operate their drug distribution network throughout the laser-lit corridors under the booming thump of stereo speakers. Their new home was perviously a community centre, home to the NLS before they were brutally evicted.   Shadow Creek Metroplex - A massive hab project, overtaken by cults and gangs. Shadow Creek is home to one of T95’s “Living” Digital Admins, a crude VI that originally helped to administer the entire metroplex. It has since been hopelessly corrupted thanks to decades of neglect, and none of the cults or gangs know how to properly operate it. Now, Isaac haunts the corridors and common areas of the Metroplex, still blithely trying to be helpful. The presence of this rogue VI makes it difficult to hack anything useful within the ‘plex.   Shadow Creek Commons - A former public park, now overrun by homeless encampments, the Commons hosts regular night markets. This is a place where gang conflict is strictly forbidden, and the local neighborhood groups work hard to keep this place safe... or at least, as safe as they can manage.   NLV Airport - Abandoned and left to the teeming masses, overrun by squatters. This transportation hub is now a labyrinth of gutted airplane chassis, hangar colonies and terminal gangs vying for turf. The Baggage Handlers, an infamous courier organization, will hold and move packages for the other gangs for a reasonable sum.   Commune of the Third Horizon - A collective living community that sprang up around Saint Ophelia, the Commune was one of the more peaceable, well-meaning cults that inhabited the North side. Their leader, blessed with prophetic sight, was once a slaver for the Sixers that chose a different path after discovering her powers, though her time in Neo Vegas was cut brutally short when she was assassinated on the Vegas highway at the behest of the Ironhearts. The grey-robed Communers still minister to the poor, giving up their worldly possessions to place their faith and trust in Ophelia’s doctrine. They used to operate out of the rebuilt ruins of an elementary school, but in the aftermath of Ophelia's death they have been forced out by the Ironhearts and now operate without a home base.   The Carcass - A stretch of streets and alleyways bitterly contested by both the Sixers and the Ironhearts, the Carcass is a no-go zone for anyone who has any interest in staying alive. The Sixers strive to control it due to its easy access to the Vegas underground tunnel network and the abandoned buildings that would greatly benefit their human trafficking efforts. The Ironhearts, however, want to maintain access to the tunnel network to facilitate their assassination missions. Neither side is willing to budge an inch, and as such the bodies keep stacking higher. Very few folks willingly live in or near the Carcass anymore.   Hope Towers - An ambitious project by Vulcan Construction, Hope Towers were meant to house tens of thousands of North Las Vegas residents, gradually indoctrinating them into the Vulcan way of living and bringing them into their labour pool. They didn’t count on the virulent influence of the local cults, who quickly seized upon the housing development. The Ghuls and the Sixers both struggle for dominance here among the gutted hallways and cramped apartments, vying for the hearts and minds of the people here who couldn’t give a damn about Vulcan. The megacorp is currently hiring Operators to run targeted ops against the cults within Hope Towers on the slim chance they might dislodge them so the corp can recoup its investment.   The Zoo - An Ironhearts holding that’s open to the public, the Zoo is a former firehal that now serves as a pit-fighting operation where biomodded combatants clash against each other in often-deadly bouts. Attendance is relatively cheap; the cult often recruits wannabe Ironhearts from the rabid fans who want to be just like their chromed-up heroes that battle in the ring.   Antoinette’s - A baroque-themed nightclub styled after the French courts of bygone eras, Antoinette’s is a polymer paradise filled with carefully sculpted hedge, fake songbirds and painted dandies peddling drugs. Antoinette’s is a strange outlier in North Las Vegas, and features a hidden brothel in the back rooms. Cult influence is kept at bay thanks to many well-placed tributes and bribes, though the Sixers are allowed to deal outside.   Covenhold - Several abandoned warehouses here have been taken over by the desperate and the destitute, their cargo container warrens remodeled with jury-rigged generators into thousands of improvised homes for the dozens of different cults that call North Las Vegas home. This is a largely self-policed area that the NVPD refuses to go to, though WATCHTOWER makes frequent trips. Travellers here can often locate esoterica if they're willing to trade with the covens within.
