Hallowed Grounds

A nondescript cafe where a few notable Fixers operate out of. A good place to pick up information. The owner is crooked as hell and has private rooms in the back for discrete dealings. The interior has many rustic touches, as if someone looted a ranch outside of town and brought the good pieces back here. Hallowed Grounds is also built over the remains of an old bomb shelter and features an off-site telecom junction box, which hosts a local Black Net. Getting access to the Shelter internet cafe requires thorough vetting. This is the main haunt of fixer Taumir Najib .

Purpose / Function

Hallowed Grounds is a semi-decent coffeeshop; the main floor serves passable synthetic coffee and occasionally gets real beans in from a hijacked shipment from South American neofeudal states. The chairs are comfortable, the music is soothing lofi jazz, and the security guard at the door is always happy to discuss philosophy.   Upstairs, about two dozen souls reside in loft and studio apartments. They're cramped and a little bare-bones, but they're functional.    The real draw of the building, however, is what lies below; an old bomb shelter was built here during the Second American Civil War, and after the end of open hostilities it was converted into a net cafe that manages to maintain access to the Black Net through a telecom junction box that was never decomissioned.  Whoever built the bomb shelter wanted to ensure they still had access to the network in the event of the worst case scenario, and the junction box was built without permits or notifying the city. The bomb shelter now hosts stacks of servers and dozens of hardline terminals. Those who are in the good graces of Taumir Najib are allowed to use the terminals, providing them with direct access to the seedy underbelly that quietly hums along underneath the pristine, highly sanitized internet brought to Neo Vegas by the corps.
