Timoria
Timoria is the Nation of Guilds! Their borders stretch from the equator to the most northern tip of Olivaan. With a wide variety of biomes they possess likely the most diverse citizens of any other Olivaan Nation. The Guilds of Timoria are constantly in competition over the acquisition of the Nation's resources. Massive coast line and the largest mountains in Miramai give them access to the largest deposits of ore, minerals, gems of any other nation. Their proximity to two of the Towers, including the Prime Tower give the benefits of more Dust infused raw material than most other Nations. They are the largest exporter of the metal required for enchanting and Dust Vessel Creation. Particulum. The two consecutive months of Eclipses allows them to locate the valuable metal and mine it.
Geography
Massive coast line that gives Timoria plenty of fishing opportunity, along with one of the freshwater great lakes. As well as access to the northern rivers that flow into the ocean. The coast lines are also very rich in mineral deposits. The largest mountains in all of Miramai lie in the northern parts of Timoria. Mines and forges scatter the land and lower mountain sides. Patches of forest are scattered through Timoria, many are very young forests due to deforestation during conflicts with Veritan in the past. They have large grasslands to the north that are home to some particularly large beasts native to Timoria.
Government
The guilds of Timoria govern over the nation through a council of representatives. Their position and voting power within the council is determined through a complicated system of balancing the guilds contributions with their membership. For instance, the Particulum Survey Guild has significantly fewer members than the Iron Miner Guild. However due to the high value of Particulum and the high level of skill required to locate veins of the material, the Particulum Survey Guild holds more voting power than the Iron Miner Guild. The determination of voting power is decided by yet another guild, The Timorian Unity Guild, who determine Council membership, voting power of members, and run census and polls for determining concerns that need addressed. Though they themselves do not hold a seat on the Council they manage, their influence is known, but spoken of only in whispers.
Society and Culture
Timorian citizens are typically very hard working. Most take pride as the harvesters of the raw materials the world requires. 'There is no tree without roots.' A phrase most citizens are taught from birth. Though there is no particular stigma against opening a business, anything that overly complicates a process is sneered at. For instance a Timorian who works a mine is viewed with the highest regard. A trader who purchases that raw material and runs it to another nation, is fine, an acceptable profession. A person who offers to pay out percentages of profits instead of buying material, who hires traders to run the product for a similar percentage... trash in the eyes of Timorians.
Even people hired as guards are rarely seen without a tool in hand. Typically doubling as maintenance for the towns and organizations they are hired to guard.
While this dedication to hard work has created a Nation of strong willed citizens. Progress is slow at best. Inventors and inovators are often seen as lazy, trying to take work away from others. This doesn't stop expedition teams from Idiir from traveling to Timoria. The most technologicaly advanced Olivaan Nation sends regular teams to investigate reports of ruins that miners will stumble upon. Along with coastal salvage teams when ancient tech is found along the coast lines. Timoria generally see's these ruins and salvage as a hinderance to their work. So they accept Idiir's aid in removal of it.
Economy
Timoria's Guilds produce more raw materials for metals, gems, and minerals than any other nation easily. Along with a successful monster hunting business in the grasslands as well as the ocean. They trade the materials they gather with Ehriil, Rensif, and every member of the Olivaan Union. Even reluctantly with Veritan in Order to gain some of their plentiful lumber supply.
Though they are not as talented at trade as La'Collet, the sheer volume of product they move has left them as one of the wealthiest Nations in Miramai.
Military
There isn't a soldier in Timoria that isn't also a Miner, Lumberjack, Fisherman, Monster Hunter, or some other profession. The professional soldier is unheard of in Timoria. That's not to say that Timoria lacks a military or that their skills are lacking. Every guild has members as part of their militia's. Trained often to fight using the tools of their trade or whatever is at hand. The Council can call for each Guild to send a percentage of their Militia to serve whatever purpose might be required. For instance, during one of the many wars that Timoria waged with Veritan, the Council called for 30% of all Militia to march on what it is now the capital of La'Collet (Formerly controlled by Veritan). The Timorian Unity Guild sent members who acted as leadership over the scattered forces. Quickly forming them into effective units with clear orders. Militia members of various guilds can usually be identified by marks on their tools. These marks represent their kills or successful missions. It's advised to never claim a Timorian doesn't take care of their tools, because the notches in that pickaxe were not from neglect.
Allies & Enemies
Timoria regularly squables with Veritan. This has happened for so long that the origins have been lost to most. La'Collet's introduction to the Union has actually created the longest peace between the two nations in either of their histories. Though trading through La'Collet has cost them in profit and materials, the lack of war and regular access to Veritan's lumber and herbs has tipped the scales in favor of La'Collet.
Timoria also has a good relationship with Rensif. Though Timoria's membership to the Union would put them on the side of Fahlis in the current conflict between Fahlis and Rensif. Timoria takes issues with Fahlis practice of comendeering their goods as they pass through to trade with Zelor. While going through the Union is an option many take, tax collectors are the lowest of the low in the eys of most Timorians. Rensif however opens their borders happily to Timorian and Zelor trade. Offering guard services through their borders for a smaller fee than the taxes the Union would take just for passing through.
Though they don't share a border with Idiir, they have an odd relationship. Timorian leadership think Idiir's obsession with ancient ruins is a waste. However Idiir expedition teams never leave without informing the guilds of rich deposits of raw materials. They even give regular gifts to Timoria just for the ability to observe their ruins. Timoria has no issue selling anything they salvage at a flat cost by weight. The relationship has gone so well for both parties they have signed into law exclusivity to Timorian Ruins. Idiir has a certain amount of time after being informed to send teams to explore and excavate any ruins found on Timorian land, or coastal borders.
