Kassandei Louna

Kassandei Louna (a.k.a. Cassandra)

Kassandei is a song-sorceress from the city of Ununanun in the southern edge of the Fungal Blight. She has been trained as a song-sorceress from a young age, and is a master on the violin, as well as a highly-skilled botanist, ornithologist, and healer. Although young, she has previously worked as a diplomat with the Tenedziin, and shows promise as a future member of the cunningfolk.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Kassandei is healthy, always ensuring to take care of her physical health by regular exercise and an enriching diet consisting of local meats, nuts, and herbs - most of which she gathers herself. She is graceful and swift, able to move through the oft-tangled wilderness of the Fungal Blight with comparative ease.

Body Features

Kassandei is slim, yet somewhat strong. She has the physique of a runner, fit but not large or swollen with muscle. Her skin is paler than average, and she is lightly freckled, with long, straight, brown hair.

Facial Features

A slim and pale face, highly symmetrical aside from a group of freckles on her left cheek. She wears a traditional nose piercing made from squirrel bone and has two small birds tattooed behind her right ear.

Special abilities

Kassandei is one of the few magic users in her hometown, and certainly one of the most skilled.

Apparel & Accessories

Kassandei typically wears light-colored, traditional robes, ideal for blending in with the mycelial environment with the fungal blight. In the traditional manner, they are embroidered with colorfully patterned circles, which glow at night. She carries her violin across her back, and wears a leather belt over her robes to hold them at her waist, to which she affixes a small, simple knife in a sheath.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Kassandei grew up in a middle-class home in Unán, at the edge of the empire. She had a relatively easy upbringing until it was discovered that she was a magic user. Since this discovery, she has trained endlessly under Master Ryal, one of the cunningfolk of the Fungal Blight, to master her magical abilities. She began playing violin before she was aware of her magical prowess, and when she learned about her gift, she incorporated it into her music. She is now an accomplished song-sorceress in her own right, yet she is still training to join the cunningfolk someday. In T.S.XIV.34, her mother passed away from an unknown illness, and since then she has lived with her father in their mycele, although he is rarely around due to his work as a traveling merchant.

Education

Kassandei has received no formal education, however she has been trained independently by masters of several crafts including song-sorcery, botany, ornithology, and ecological conservation. She has become a resource for her community in these matters, and teaches classes to local children on the importance of the preservation of nature.

Employment

Kassandei largely lives off of her father's earnings as a merchant, although she has earned some money for herself as a teacher, cleric, and lately as a diplomat, among other miscellaneous jobs.

Morality & Philosophy

Kassandei is profoundly devoted to the protection of nature. She recognizes that humans can often live in harmony with nature, and promotes the lifestyle of smaller villages which have little negative impact on their surroundings as opposed to the destruction brought by densely packed settlements and cities, which she detests. She has fought for the preservation of the Fungal Blight, which she sees as home, and one of nature's greatest wonders.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Kassandei has long worked with the cunningfolk of the Fungal Blight in her training, and is well acquainted with all of the druids and naturalists between the Great Mountain Pass and the Kyonyita Desert. Furthermore, she has worked as a diplomat with the Tenedziin to ease tensions both among various Tanadszomo tribes and between the Tenedziin and the Empire. She has helped them to establish boundaries and protected areas for the natural features of the Tanadszomo Mountains, and has become a well-reputed member of their society. Working as a peacemaker in this function has also gotten her acquainted with Tajj Netan government officials, and recently they have enlisted her a scout for a new expansionary project into the Kyonyita.

Speech

Slow and measured. Careful, poignant.

Wealth & Financial state

Kassandei is not wealthy by any means, nor is she impoverished. Her father makes a good living as a traveling merchant, which affords her a safe and modest lifestyle that is well-adapted to her trainings.

A young song-sorceress from the Fungal Blight, hopeful for the future of the Empire yet grimly aware of the direction things have been going. A true advocate for the natural world and a supremely talented botanist, many see her as a druid and a future member of the elite cunningfolk. She is slim and graceful, yet fierce and strong-willed in her beliefs.
