Galekeep
The city and later a country founded by immigrants from the Arcane Theocracy Valthurian Order.
First settlers arrived via the teleport from Aurumarch in the year 90. Galekeep is also located on the magical hotspot area on Ixar. In the following decade, Galekeepers developed seafaring and navigation, all enabled and assisted by magic.
Magical practices of body control and transformation for resilience, support, and vitality established as response to harsh conditions. The idea of changing yourself to overcome and progress became enshrined in Galekeep's culture.
As opposed to tightening of restrictions and dictate of the theocrats in the Valthurian Order, communication and open information become hallmarks of political processes in Galekeep.
In the year 190 the second, even more populous wave of migrants from the Valthurian Order arrived drawn in by better living conditions that Galekeep achieved, and pushed by the transformation of the Order into a fundamentalist dictatorship.
Ashen Eirian, a philosopher from Galekeep, became a powerful cultural influence. Eirian's studies advocated for reflection, introspection, and progress through adaptability. Reflect, adapt, progress - could be considered the way of life and quintessential Galekeep motto. By teaching tolerance, Eirian helped to heal the social tensions caused by cultural clashes in the wake of massive immigration around the year 200.
By 260, Galekeep was a thriving society of nearly 13 million people focused on adaptability and resourcefulness as drivers of progress.
Internally the resources and productive assets are owned by the state - a hierarchy of magocratic feudal lords. Externally Galekeep pursues mercantilistic trade principles maximizing exports and minimizing imports.
