The Hallowed Plain

The wet seasons for the western third of Arcea can be the most violent of those found anywhere on Igreon. The storms that rage through the six months of the year are incredibly violent, able to tear apart any buildings built of wood near the coasts, and flooding the coastal cities on occasion. The coasts are prone to heavy flooding during this season, making them ideal spots to plant rice and sugarcane, but also making any residential housing more difficult unless built on some sort of rise. The dry seasons can sometimes be even harder, going sometimes for weeks on end without any sort of rainfall. As a result, there are not many large congregations, cities, towns, or otherwise that exist anywhere on the Arcean continent, and those that are within the Hallowed Plains are closer to the coast and most likely sheltered from the storms by the natural formations around them. The interior of the Hallowed Plains also has its own climate, as much of the land doesn't see much more than a few rainstorms a year. As a result the plants and animals have learned to subsist off of less water, but many refuse to move into such harsh conditions.

Agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and fishing are common practices in the Hallowed Plains. There aren't many other natural resources around, like metal or wood, but the soil is fertile and the stones are good building material. Many residents therefore have resulted to subsistence farming, but some still congregate in the few cities found throughout the plains.
