Argentum
Argentum is a prosperous mercantile city at the edge of the Fulgentis Penninsula to the western edge of the Hallowed Plain. Most food is either brought in with trade or caught from the ocean, and the sheltered harbor offers a great opportunity for merchant vessels looking to dock in the more volatile storms of the wet season.
Defences
Argentum has many places from which it can easily be defensible, from the cliff to the north that shelters the cove from hurricanes to the walls and dikes built to do the same on the south end of the city. With the main temple and accompanying government buildings nestled into said cliffside, this port city is practically impenetrable from large scale invasion with enough preparation time.
Industry & Trade
Trade is the primary reason for Argentum's existence. The port acts as an endpoint for the Silver Run, which is the trade route that goes from Zilaidat to Argentum and brings the metals of the desert to the western cities, and can be used to connect to many of the other port cities of the Arcean continent with ease due to its more or less central location between them. As such, the majority of the economy of Argentum is built around this trade.
Infrastructure
The city of Argentum was built around the harbor and its accompanying natural fixture, which keeps the city secure from the hurricanes that batter the continent.
Guilds and Factions
The Merchant's Guild has a stranglehold on Argentum. In much the same way that nothing can happen in Alitheis without the knowledge of the Divine Church, nothing can pass through Argentum without the Merchant's Guild's say-so. While this does make trade inconvenient at times, it ensures that all trade is equal and equitable for all.
Architecture
Argentum is built around the harbor and accompanying cliff, and therefore a lot of buildings are carved out of the cliff face or made of stone and other materials nearby. The temple isn't quite as extravagant in Argentum, but the city as a whole is one of splendor and wealth.
Geography
The penninsula is more or less isolated from the continent proper, other than by the Silver Run through which many arrive and leave Argentum.
