Personal history
Jaria, in her youth, was very focused with the military aspect of her country, an aspect that had both been in the forefront of the people but one religated to the side due to its noble-focused hierarchy. At the same time, growing up, Azora was host to numerous revolutions such as the Caerowyn Revolution and the Grand Duchy of Litzen failed Revolution, and the various civil wars in the Lorausii Confederation. She could see that, within her lifetime, great changes were underway and sought to embrace them, hoping they would allow her to still rule.
During the Desh Interregnum War, Jaria would frequently visit triage hospitals and field barracks to talk with soldiers - even being rescued by a young captain Kasse Soren after her capture during an ambush on her travels.
In 1890, after the war, she handpicked a team of officers who she saw as the most progressive and the most battle-hardened to lead the reformation of the military. Using these officers, she sought to collapse the noble-born oligarchy and allow the common man in, as well as allowing commoners to gain officer ranks. In her mind, these reforms would allow commoners to reach higher status in Adraus Society and end the gaps that society had built up and help reform the nation as a whole.
