This world is an ever-shifting dream created unconsciously by the minds of watchful god-like spirits. It is inhabited by humans separated by great oceans and mountains, each with their own unique cultures, traditions and mindsets.
These spirits, known as Dium, observe the lives and deaths of these humans with great anticipation and interest. So much so, many cross the "Great Divide" to participate in the daily lives of these humans, to form bonds and help shape the world that they, themselves, have given life to.
These bonds they form are known as "Pacts" and, to the minds of the humans, are the source of the greatest magic that their world can know.
