Tempestra - The Unyielding Storm
Tempestra is one of the four Dragon Lords of Soliemia. She rules over the region of the Umfula Plains, reigning from her lair upon the cloudtop peaks of Storm’s Peak, the highest peak of the Stormpeak Mountains.
Tempestra is an ancient being, said to have been born prior to the Dragon-Elf War of the Silver Age. Ancient legends tell that it was during the war that Tempestra ascended to become an Archdragon. Though how, and why four Archdragons were created around the same time, is unknown. Some have speculated that Storm’s Peak once contained a doorway to the Elemental Plane of Air, which was used during the Dragon-Elf War to empower Tempestra, transforming her into an Archdragon. This would go to explain why the four Archdragons of Soliemia, match the elements of the Elemental Planes.
Some other ancient records of the Dragon-Elf War also suggest that Tempestra, along with the Archdragon Sol Ignus, had sided with Tiamat, during the war. But during the final years of the war, the two Archdragons betrayed Tiamat and joined the side of Bahamut, potentially turning the tide in Bahamut’s favour.
Tempestra is said to be a vain and arrogant dragon who only thinks of themselves. She adores flattery and adoration. Her cloudtop lair is said to be filled with gleaming jewels, metals and mirrors, polished to perfection. She seems to have a preference for silver.
Tempestra cares little for any creature beyond her brood and has not been seen outside her lair for many millenia. When she desires anything she will send her draconic brood to serve her interests across Soliemia, happily accepting gifts of finery to take back to their mother.
Appearance
Tempestra is a gargantuan quadrupedal drake with a coat of dark blue scales that crackle with electricity. She is long and thin, serpentine in shape, and is said to be accompanied by a raging thunderstorm wherever she flies.
Tempestra is rarely said to take on the shape of a thin and bony elderly woman with elven features. She has tanned skin, long grey hair and a perpetual look of disgust. She is often described as being draped in exquisite finery, often flowing blue dresses and copious amounts of silver jewelry.
