Kingdom of Accia
The reach of the Kingdom of Accia is vast, encompassing nearly every territory of Eluziar, Alkelbulan and Yaxiya! While it could be considered an empire, Accians continue to call their country a kingdom and their sovreign a king. This imposing, grand nation was originally founded by folk hero Accia and the Aethid Sylthari after the Downfall of the Erlithmanil. The Syltharis royal line descends from these two and the line remains unbroken, carrying her celestial blood and the pride of Accia himself! |
While the original royal line remains unbroken, the kingdom was not always united under their rule--amid the free Era, the Syltharis ruled only symbolically. Wars ravaged the fertile lands of the Eluzian Valley and beyond, waged between self-proclaimed noble families or even sovreigns to control farmland blessed by Oril. That is until a little over two hundred years ago when the Syltharis reunited Eluziar under their rule, gathering the loyalty of and establishing the Ten Houses! Ten duchies came together and recognized the crown, gaining land and governance rights over them in return. And once their homeland was brought to order, the kingdom turned its attention outward, intending to unify all of Emynea under their king! With this new ambition, the kingdom declared the beginning of a new era, the Accian Era. The kingdom continues to grow and thrive off of the exploits of their conquest, believing they can bring stability to all of Emynea, gaining an unfounded sense of superiority as a nation and the ire of countless subjugated peoples. |
By the year 207 AE, King Ambrose Syltharis occupies the throne and is determined to see his ancestors' ambition through himself. His son, Prince Aldric, is set to join the military training program alongside the ten House heirs. Continuing to push forward on several fronts, the kingdom also seeks to stabilize or expand its influence through diplomacy and political unions more than it has in the past--maintaining such a large empire demands as much. Many a princess has set their eyes on the prince to these ends but their ongoing frontiers include the Isthmus of the Huntsman, al-Arabiyyah , the Frozen Wastes, Suwarnadwipa, KwaZulu, Skaney, Mexica and Nippon. All other lands beyond these points are a mystery to the kingdom ut they assume they are on the precipice of world domination. But two or more continents and many isles lay beyond their awareness. However, the portions of their world they have managed to absorb render the kingdom extraordinarily diverse, pulling together individuals from the farthert reaches of Emynea who may have otherwise never interacted! |

Government |
While the Syltharis royal line is the ultimate authority in the kingdom, they are supported by the Ten Houses who manage Accian territoroes in their interest. The king has the right to grant or re-assign each House and which territories fall under their control. However, for the sake of stability these changes are not made often or haphazardly. While most Houses descend from the original ten nobles who aligned themselves with the kingdom, there are those who have lost the king's favor, left the kingdom or even betrayed their king, their position quickly nabbed up by ambitious nobles waiting to take their place!
While there are only ten Houses, ten duchies, far more nobles fall under their influence. The appointed head of each House takes the title of Duke or Duches, many lesser nobles serve under a designated House. As the king grants lands and authority to the duchies, the lesser nobles are granted the same by their house head. With each new territory claimed by treaty or conquest, power and influence trickles down to those who have earned their leader's favor. In fact, most local governance of the kingdom falls to lesser nobles. However, they are ever at the whims and demands of the duchy, their power just as easily taken away at the displeasure of their duke. The pecking order is as follows: |
Duke

Marquis
Marchioness |

Demography |
The demography of the kingdom continues to diversify as they expand but local Accians are among the numerable Eluzian subethnicities. each region of Eluziar was once divided into many individual countries and ethnicities, each having their own language and culture! But while Eluzians are skeptical or and judgemental of outside cultures, they derive immense pride from the diversity of Valley cultures--a source of national pride. For some, this pride has grown to the point of superiority and disgust with foreigners as lesser.
Despite disgust and aprehension, a unique mixing of and tolerance of newly assimilated lands shines through each young generation as they train and fight together in the Accian Military Training Program, slowly mixing in Yaxiyan and Alkelbulian traditions! But the misunderstood captives of frontier or even enemy peoples are treated with considerable disdain, expected to conform to Accian culture before they can be accepted at all. Some of these captive youths include Beyonder, Arabiyy, Khalkh Monggol, Wastelander, Ostmen, Bakongo, Nguoi Viet, Chao Thai and Orang Indonesia. |
Foreign Relations |
The royal lines of the lands the kingdom has pulled under its influence, still allocated some form of authority and governance in exchange for loyalty, have sent their heirs to rub shoulders with Prince Aldric Syltharis whether this be friendship, co-operation or even marriage. The female heirs of Zhongguo, Bharat and Gaarreen Ho'aa in particular have joined the military training program alongside the prince, hoping to grow closer to him and secure an engagement. These are Shi Yang, Wu Zetian, Eshana Chakrabarti and Makeda Samrawit. Meanwhile Seo Yul from Joseon and Baahir Ilnidhotep, son of Ilnid, have also been placed in close proximity to Prince Aldric. |
Beyond these allies, the kingdom is feeling out the House of Yamato in Nippon to assess if conquest or alliance is the better route. Active warfronts at the Isthmus of the Huntsman and To Rong Lua are less diplomatic as are relations with some more volatile territories within the borders of the kingdom itself! Unable to safely traverse let alone invade these lands, the kingdom bides their time until they have the resources or opportunity to dominate these peoples such as the Ostmen of Skaney, the various peoples and pirates of Mexica, the reclusive merchants of the Frozen Wastes or the deep sea settlements of Suwarnadwipa. |
Military |
The Accian Military is highly organized and thoroughly trained. Each and every citizen is required to serve first in the Accian Military Training Program and then a set number of years within the military itself! Both mandatory and intensive, AMTP is designed by the kingdom's scholars to maximize the skills and magic capabilities of each soldier. Their training is specialized to their unique Kaithur and martial prowess, each recruit trained both hone their abilities and to work in tandem within ten man units or much larger divisions. They can switch between these formations on command, also learning to march from region to region in a formation called the Procession. For those who are successful in the program, the kingdom gains highly mobile, co-operative and specialized soldiers ready to further expand their kingdom! But it also assimilates captives from new territories into the kingdom and its vallues or a the very least roots out weak links and disloyal citizens... |
|
While there are many colleges across the kingdom, for mages or scholars, there are also local schools which teach citizens basic math, language and history. Yet the largest and most thorough education for any Accia from any background begins when they attend AMTP, every citizen of every territory and station enlisted at the age of 16.
Otherwise, the common citizen is more likely born into serfdom, poverty or into a family of dutiful artisans, tenacious fishermen or wandering performers. A lucky few are instead born into a household of merchants, traders, buisiness owners or landowners, having more freedom than poorer laborors. Serfs receive no more than a common education in local schools, if even that, while children of artisans and performers begin learning their trade directly from their parents or through apprenticeships after service. Outside of the opportunities in AMTP and the benefits offered to established veterans, there is very little socio-economic movement between these social strata, further bolstering social support of the program. These opportunities garner further loyalty and support from Accian citizens as their sole ray of hope for a better life! Even if it is foreign lands which pay the price. |
Agriculture and Trade |
The bulk of agriculture for the kingdom takes place in the Eluzian Valley which had been blessed by Ylithuum (or more specifically their aspect Oril) to be endlessly fertile. Fresh nutrients seep out from Oril's Plane itself every day. Additionally, the expansion of their borders has widened the kingdom's economy extensively. With so many territories under their control, they have established highly beneficial trade deals for the kingdom, heavily weighed in their favor and fueled by further conquest. |
