Session 3.6
General Summary
The party, deciding to stay one extra day to enjoy the festivities of the Carnivale and investigate the missing Sovereign Philomena Andromeda, had stumbled upon a gathering of 20 or so hooded figures led by Sovereign Raynaud beneath the Colossus in what appeared to be an attempt to make it come to life. Afterwards, they divulged what they had uncovered, first to Quell, then to Soren (who was not part of the situation due to illness), and finally to Lord Escobar. While sharing the day’s events in Soren’s room, Caspian had discovered that they were being spied upon by an unknown party via a magical frame with a portrait of a previous Sovereign. Fannti upon identifying its properties decided to have it unattuned to stop its recording effects.
During the following morning the party had once again decided to extend their stay another day but ultimately decided to cap their visit to 5 days as they had two other leaders to visit. They held a private meeting with Lord Escobar back at the Drunken Canary presenting their liaison with all the information they had gathered in the last 24hrs. Lord Escobar said he was not entirely surprised by what the Sovereign was currently doing as there have been rumors of Lord Escobar’s infatuation with weaponizing the Colossus. He then connected the party’s findings to the recent geological anomalies occurring within the past month. Despite the news, Lord Escobar verbalized that he was more concerned with trying to locate Sovereign Philomena Andromeda. The party decided to continue to assist Quell and Lord Escobar to the best of their ability for the remainder of their stay. Caspian had recalled multiple branching paths as they were trailing Sovereign Reynaud that could lead to the missing sovereign’s whereabout, while Fannti also remembered the Sovereign heading to the Palace from a private ship the other night.
After their meeting, the party decided to split up with Caspian deciding to canvas civilians for information or rumors on Sovereign Philomena’s possible location while Fannti, Zhorn, and Soren decided to try to find an alternative entrance into the corridors. The three were able to find an underwater entrance along the sea wall that led them into the same hallway they had visited less than twenty-four hours prior. They followed the path back towards the palace into the annex with the branching paths and followed one which led the group into what appeared to be a carpeted dungeon with two doors on opposite ends of the space. They investigated both and were surprised to find two similar rooms that appeared to be more akin to luxury inns rather than dungeon holdings. The second of the two rooms appeared hastily cleaned, but no signs of any inhabitants. They then overheard two Sable Sentinels who came down to search for anything forgotten. The group then decided to follow the royal guardsmen and eventually found themselves in what had appeared to be an underground armory.
Meanwhile Caspian, despite not being able to glean more information on Sovereign Philomena’s whereabouts, learned about an entrance to the subterranean network of passages located in a cave on the outskirts of the city. Continuing his investigation, he was able to find the Sovereigns private yacht which happened to be in the shipyards in a private bay for repairs. However, Caspian was unable to gain access, until surprisingly and without warning the yacht had departed.
