Titus Vasilakis
Takraton Titus Vasilakis (a.k.a. The Crow of Pedichis)
Titus Vasilakis is the current Takraton, of Kaisa, serving as the head of the Ministry of War, commander of the Kaisan Army, and a member of the Symvouli Tiporé. As the patriarch of one of the most powerful Kaisan aristocratic families, Titus has been a cornerstone of Kaisan political circles for most of modern memory. As the head of the Vasilakis family, he runs the Vasilakis Arms corporation.
He is often a voice for reform and progress within the Ilakidi Koudagaton and the Symvouli. Following the Revolution of 1333, Titus spearheaded the creation of the Synekio Laida and has been an advocate for its continued existence, even when other members of the Symvouli wanted to dissolve it entirely, such as in 1337. He has vocally supported the Kampa Matriopiko.
As the Kaisan Takraton during the Last War, Titus commanded the Humanist League forces in Jideran. While it is hard to say how much Kaisa's loss in the war can be attributed to any personal failure of his, the loss has still left a dark stain on the public perception of his record, a fact that those who dislike Vasilakis have not been shy about exploiting.
History
Titus is the patriarch of the Vasilakis family, one of the most powerful noble families in Kaisa. The youngest son of four, he was given a full education in matters of state, military history and strategy, and everything else needed to govern, but he was never expected to gain any real power. However, a string of misfortune befell his family. When he was young, his oldest sibling died at fifteen, in an airship crash. When he was in his late twenties, the second-oldest died of mysterious circumstances, and the second youngest never had any interest in governing anything, so he was given control of his family's seat on the Ilakidi and of their estate. Rumors abound surrounding the nature of his rise to power, but nothing has been confirmed, and given that the second oldest was known to be a cruel woman, most find themselves without complaint.
Nevertheless, Titus took to politics like a fish to water. He was a strong voice for reform in his younger days, and even now he has shown a willingness to negotiate with the radical elements of Kaisan society that is not seen in many other members of the Symvouli.
Appearance
Titus has a full, neatly trimmed beard, and his head is cleanly shaved. His appearance is perfectly polished, without any piece out of place. He wears an old Kaisan officer's parade uniform, with a handful of medals and sigils at the breast. He always carries around a pair of small spectacles but does not wear them in public, as part of his persona.
