Invasion of Lanpetia

The invasion of Lanpetia was a major offensive during the Last War that opened up the front between the Imperial Jiderani Union (IJU) and the forces of the Humanist League in Jideran.

With Halar's war in Hellissandur and Tuksuhakmyon looking grim, the IJU feared that the Rising Powers Pact losing the region could allow the Humanist League to bring more forces to bear in Jideran. Searching for a way to bring the war in Jideran to a close, their eyes turned to the neutral nation of Lanpetia, separating the IJU from most of northern Kaisa . Throughout most of the war, Lanpetia had strategically remained neutral, hoping to avoid the devastation that had befallen Umbrova, but their decision to not reinforce their borders proved disastrous when the IJU was able to push across more than half of the country before their advance was halted.

Ultimately, the invasion was a massive strategic victory for the IJU. By 1347, they had managed to outmobilize Kaisa and Loritania, but they were limited in their ability to deploy the forces they possessed by the width of the front lines. Connecting the front in Umbrova with the front in northeastern Jideran allowed them to fully exploit their numerical advantage over the League. Over the next year and a half, the lines of battle would slowly push back into Kaisa and Loritania, until the two nations were unable to continue fighting.
