Cult of Tiamat
Once the dragonlords established their fiefdoms awe and worship swiftly followed. For those of the chromatic breed their progenitor Tiamat demanded that worship in her name..
Establishment
The cult of Tiamat was established early in the new days after the emergence of the red terror, the burning inequity.
It's founding high priestess - Briona Atwater - was once something other than a dragonborn but with her fervor and devotion was granted the rite of ascension and became the red head of Tiamat, the middle and greatest of the five heads.
With other chromatic dragonlords arriving in the isles, the other four heads, forming the council of five with the cult officially established during the first conclave in 2053.
Headquarters
The main 'church' is found in London, the Burning Inequity's domain. Formed from the remains of the houses of parliament, the church is dedicated to the worship of Tiamat and the burning inequity.
Official churches are few and far between, with most worship performed at small shrines dedicated to specific aspects of Tiamat.
Notable churches include:
Iceblight church
Church of the dark mirror
The Church of deceit
Thunderstrike Peak
Five as one
Organization
The church is female led, with all five heads of Tiamat being female dragonborn of the corresponding colour.
The five heads form the 'council of five', the ruling body of the church, although most final decisions rest with the red head.
The current five heads:
Ruby Goldspan (The Red)
Maria Olivier (The Blue)
Izabella Pastal (The Black)
Jenii Jezheath (The Green)
Maja Ijis (The white)
Priests, (sometimes mockingly called 'little Tia') run the day to day operations of the cult, being dedicated to a singular church or aspect of Tiamat.
The highest a male can rise in the cult of Tiamat would be a paladin of Tiamat - these are few and far between and most end up as weapons or bodyguards for the council of five. Paladins forswear their names once they ascend to the council - simply becoming the Paladin of the colour they work for.
Worship
There is no 'organized' worship or day of worship for the cult of Tiamat.
Monthly tithes however are mandatory and the bigger the tither the more pious you or your church is.
Power, deceit and ruthlessness are considered the trinity of Tiamat and are the three graces of the cult.
Common prayers are often for power to defeat enemies.
Known issues
The cult is rife with infighting and jockiying for positions of power. The most common way for a new head to be 'elected' is through the death of the previous owner of the position.
