The old way.
From the remains - it rises.
"A curious mishmash of pre cataclysm surviving beliefs - it is absolutely fascinating!" - Ser Brightgleam "The Pious"
A survivor of the past
The old way or 'the light' as it is sometimes known as is the mishmash of the Abrahamic religions from before the cataclysm.
It survived by the communities coming together - and with the loss of holy books to time, inability to print/produce new books, the traditions of Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam and Judaism begin to merge together with new oral traditions and rendering.
When Ser Brightgleam began exerting more control over his territory, he became aware of these oral traditions and helped the believers in the old ways come together to worship more openly.
They now have a permanent home base in Rugby - the city of religon and can worship openly.
There are rumors of more extreme sects of the old ways but these rumors are heavily denied by the church leadership.
There is a small sub sect who call themselves "The church of current day saints" and are a more militant arm of the old ways - they heavily revere those who become clerics and earn gifts from the divine.
Structure
The archbishop is the head of the religon.
Churches run by bishops and deacons - however organised churches are rare.
Culture
To do good. Follow the ten commandments.
History
Made up of the scattered remnants of the abrahamic religons post cataclysm - the faith was kept by word of mouth and oral traditions - so it was diluted over time.
Ser Brightgleam found these oral traditions fascinating and during the founding of his 'jewel' of a city created the first temple, referring to it as a shrine to the old ways and the name stuck.
People flocked to the site and the religion became more organised but it still is a curious mismash of beliefs.
