Guide of Aporan Races

This page is designed to be a starting point with where to place your character in the world of Apora. It is by no means a concrete set of rules, but rather a good place to start making your character. Each race has suggested articles you should read when trying to place your character in the world. Talk to your dm if you have questions.

Dwarves

The highest population of dwarves reside within Snowcairn, however, it is not uncommon to find them living about the The Southern Dominance

Elves

Another highly concentrated race, 99% of the elves residing on the material plane live in Konora.

Halflings

Halflings live mostly in the north. They have no one united kingdom, though many reside in villages within Lamlier's forest or amongst The Seer Tribes.

Humans

The most populous of any race, humans come from across the continent. They can hail from within the The Seer Tribes, The Southern Dominance, or most commonly Cronia.

Dragonborn

While there is no set civilization of dragonborn in Apora, there are a few wandering tribes in The Southern Dominance. Otherwise, any dragonborn would hail from across the sea.

Gnomes

Due to their love of discovery, gnomes often set up workshop in Lamlier's Forest, or else make their way within the The Seer Tribes.

Half-Elves

Due to the rarity of elves on the material plane, half-elves are the rarest of all the races in Apora. Should one happen to be born, it is highly likely they would live in Konora or take on a nomadic lifestyle.

Half-Orcs

After the decimation of their population during the Era of Storms, the orcs of Apora needed a new breeding pool. The result of this made half-orcs extremely common throughout Apora. They may hail from any civilization, or an orc tribe.

Tiefling

Tieflings have a tendency to crop up no matter the population. The only restriction on their population is that they are not tolerated within the Seer Tribes, as they are seen as unholy abominations that go against the gods. Rightly so, as they are only born when a demonic presence is near.

Aasimar

The Southern Dominance was once home to a glorious kingdom of aasimar. However, they were driven to near extinction. Now most aasimar reside with the dwarves of Snowcairn or with The Seer Tribes, where they are revered as holy beings.
