Snowcairn
History
The dwarven city of Snowcairn and the surrounding mountains are home to the majority of dwarves on Apora. The dwarves believe their god Moradin not only created the first dwarves, but a natural stronghold to keep them safe. Thus, the very mountains are sacred to them. Snowcairn has been ruled by the Frostscar clan since it was created. For their part in defying Thonik Sekrahd, the dwarves of Snowcairn were punished by his storms. Though the city once was called by another name, it took its modern name for the mounds of snow that buried the bodies of its people. The dwarves survived Sekrahd by retreating deep underground. It was only in the last hundred years or so their king, Armnur Frostscar, returned them to their old surface dwellings. Much of their city is still underground, as it's warmer due to lava flows.Politics
It is the dwarven belief that Snowcairn is their most precious stronghold. Thus, very few outsiders are allowed past the surface dwellings. In modern times the dwarves are more reserved when it comes to dealing with other races. Their last strong allies were decimated, and the dwarves feel their loss keenly. In honor of their old alliance, any aasimar may claim sanctuary within Snowcairn, as long as they pull their weight while benefiting from their protection.Law Enforcement
Order is very important to the dwarves of Snowcairn, and it is achieved in two ways. The first way is with the Frost Rangers, who patrol and guard the dwarven border. The second is the Ice Shields, an order of warriors kind of like the town guard. Laws are very strict, and the Ice Shields follow them to a t.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
