Novice
The title of mages furthering their studies at The Academy of Magic.
Qualifications
To attain the title of Novice one have had to finish 2 years of basic training at The Academy of Magic during which one is known as Prospect. If during the basic training one shows promise in one of the 7 schools of magic practised at the Academy, the Novice will be approached by one of the High Magus' and asked if they wish to further their studies with them.
Appointment
When appointing Novice's, classes of Prospects are gathered together in a graduation ceremony where each student are called upon and presented with their new assignment. If they are called upon and assigned to a tower within The Carved Palace they are given the oppertunity to study as a Novice.
Duties
The duty of a Novice is to study, train, and listen. They are expected to spend all of their waken hours perfecting and honing their magical abilities in their school of practice.
Benefits
When becoming a Novice the advanced libraries in their tower of study is opened up to them, and therefore they have access to libraries of books with much more powerful magic and advanced theories than while they were a Prospect. They are also appointed a personal chamber in their tower, and have access to study halls with their peers, and direct access to guidance from a High Magus specialised in their field of study, as well as personal lessons.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Novice's are given robes in one of 7 colors depending on the school of magic they are specialising in. The Novices are expected to wear these at all times, so that others might know their speciality.
The colors are as follows:
- Divination - yellow
- Transmutation - light green
- Evocation - dark green
- Abjuration - light blue
- Illusion - dark blue
- Conjuration - purple
- Enchantment - pink
