Magus
The title of Mages that have finished the advanced studies at The Academy of Magic.
Qualifications
To gain the title of Magus one has to have had the first 2 years of training at The Academy of Magic as a Prospect, and then 5 years of advanced study with a High Magus as a Novice, with whom one finds a primary field of study. When the 5 years of advanced training has been completed and a field of study has been found, one are released from the Academy to do ones own research under the rank of Magus.
Requirements
Anyone, irregardles of age, nationality, race, gender, who has shown promise at their time as a Prospect can further their study with a High Magus and gain the title of Magus.
Appointment
When finishing the advanced study and a primary field of study has been agreed upon, the High Magus under which the Novice studies, will present them to current Arch Mage where they will argue the qualifications of the Novice and why they should be allowed to continue their studies on their own and how they (and their further studies) will be an asset to society and the Academy.
Duties
As a Magus one is required to attend whenever called upon by The Academy of Magic or by the High Magus under whom one studied. If asked one is also required to handover all results and notes from ones studies if asked by someone ranked higher than oneself.
There is also an indirect debt to the Academy, as they paid for 7 years of training, so if asked to do something (no matter what) by the Academy, it is the fewest who decline and those that do are shunned from the collective of Academy trained Wizards.
Benefits
As a Magus one has access to Acadey owned libraries and halls, allowing one to research at any of those, as well as having a place to discuss the newest theories with other Magus'.
