Hurgargen
Past the only true forest on the island, lies thesmall industrious town, Hugargen. Known for it's mining of dark iron ore and obsidian, both of which has properties of superior durability, resistance to heat, and magical malleability when processed. The town lies at the foot of the impressive vertical rise of a glinting dark grey cliff, at the end of the northwestern plateau, from which the iron ore and obsidian is mined. The town is a cluster of stone houses built from mine tailings, with the oldest homes nestled closest to the main mine entrance and newer ones spreading organically outward toward the forest that borders the town to the southeast. The air here is thick with soot and metal, and the glow of molten iron can be seen from miles away. The majority of the island's dwarven population lives in Hurgargen, working the mines and forges, most of the remaining Dwarves work the workshops in Bosta.
Industry & Trade
Hurgargen is a mining town through-and-through. More than 90% of the working ready inhabitants work jobs related to the mining of dark iron ore and obsidian. Around 70% of those people work directly in the mines or forges, and the remaining 30% maintain supporting positions such as geologists, foremen, medical jobs, cooks (for the paid meals of the workers), and forestry for the mineshaft support and heating of the forges.
The mine has been owned by the Bosta Clan for as long as people can remember, but the running of the mine, and therefore town, has been maintained by different Clans over the years, currently it is Vorstag Clan, lead by Haldrek Vorstag.
The remaining 10% of the working people of Hurgargen do a variety of jobs, though most of these are shop owners or carriers transporting goods to-and-from Bosta. A smaller group are hunters in the nearby forest, however historically the forest has had little prey and many predators. Therefore, their work is more contained to protecting the town from what lives in the forest rather than hunting for meat.

Natural Resources
The dark iron ore of the vertical cliff face that the town is built around, is unique and therefore is a very important ressource for the island. The properties of the iron requires very little work to bring forth, and has a high potential for magical enchantment. These proporties makes it obvious for crafting into armor, and therefore is worn by all soldiers and guards of the island. Similarly the obsidian has the same types of properties, but this can't be shaped in the same way and is therefore mostly used for weapons or enchanted items through infusions or startegic placement of gems.
The forest is a unique ressource of the island, and the forges and fireplaces of the town is one of the few powered by firewood rather than the natural heat of the subsurface.
