Dueling Arenas

Dueling Arenas of K’lais

Centers of Combat, Honor, and Spectacle

Overview

Dueling Arenas are widespread across K’lais, serving as official venues for the formalized Duels that govern disputes, honor, and challenges. The arena system was proposed by Zane Morelli and approved by both the K’laisian military and the High Council.

All arenas operate under strict rules to ensure Duels remain honorable, fair, and within the bounds of K’laisian law.

Description:

The arenas draw immense crowds, with long lines flowing through the main gates. Their entrances are designed with smooth, sweeping curves that rise from the street’s edge, giving the structures a soft, organic appearance. The arched tops resemble the underside of an oblong cavern mushroom. The doors and windows create the effect of layered gills. This architectural style is intentional, blending K'laisian aesthetics with natural subterranean forms and lending the arenas an otherworldly elegance despite their brutal purpose.

Administration and Oversight

  • Every arena is overseen by the Master of Ceremonies for its district.
  • Masters of Ceremonies are supported by understudies and assistants, creating a structured hierarchy for supervision.
  • Overseers must be present during every match to monitor proper conduct and adherence to Duel regulations.
  • A Master of Security manages all safety and order concerns within the arena.
