Secondary Rules of Dueling (Modern Version)
- Anyone can be Challenged; Any reason can be given.
- All weapons must be announced prior to the Duel.
- As long as your feet are on K’laisian soil, a being can be Challenged. Visitor, ambassador, or citizen. It doesn’t matter.
- Ranks do not matter when Challenges are issued. A citizen can Challenge an admiral or healer of any rank. A suspect can Challenge the being arresting them.
- If a Challenge is issued, it must be answered.
- A being can yield the Challenge and concede defeat. Or they can accept the Challenge and Duel.
- Gifts are never to be used during a Duel. To do so is considered dishonorable.
- Anyone can request a Champion.
- A Champion may refuse the request. No reason is required.
- Duels can be scheduled for a designated time in the future or they can be immediate.
- Fight to win or die in dishonor.
- Only melee weapons are allowed for a Duel. Bladed or not, it cannot be a projectile weapon. Sidearms and such are not allowed and are considered dishonorable. As such, the user of such will forfeit the Duel immediately and justice will be served as seen fit by the overseer of the Duel.
- Spectators can be called as witnesses.
- Any witness is charged to uphold the Laws of the Duel.
