Ancient Laws of Dueling
(followed mainly by the Moyii Tsaa)
- Anyone can be Challenged for any reason. Ranks and positions matter not.
- If a Challenge is issued, it must be answered.
- Insults are worthy of death; no Challenge is required
- Gifts are to never be used, to do so is to forfeit your honor.
- Dishonor will lead to death.
- Fight to win or die in dishonor.
- Survival is to adapt.
- Champions are a luxury.
- A Champion may be requested, but one does not have to be accepted.
- The weapon in hand is not the only weapon one may use during the Duel.
- Duels may be to the death, as yields do not have to be accepted.
- The strongest survive, while the weak will wither and die.
- A Duel without reliable witness is not a Duel.
- Duels are absolute.
- It is the task of the parents to protect the young.
- The gift of a sword is forever binding. Only death can separate those joined by the blade.
- Only melee weapons can be used for Duels are personal. All other weaponry is dishonorable and will result in immediate death. By either the opponent or witness.
- Duels of vast importance will take place within a Circle** and witnessed by all.
**All Clans had a Dueling circle. They were used for all ceremonies and for Duels of vast importance. Such as Challenges to the ruler of the Clan. Duels between Clan chieftains also occurred within the Dueling Circles.
