Demographics
The main language of the village is French, with a slight majority of people coming from Francophone Africa. The original colonists were employees of Lifestone Mining, who began surveying the Serpent Isles around 2090. The company went bankrupt in 2093, stranding many employees on job sites throughout the islands.
Government
The community has no formal leadership. Instead, once every two weeks the community meets in person to discuss and vote upon issues and laws. A moderator is selected from the residents by random draw.
Industry & Trade
The village is centered around mining and ore processing, metal ingots and metal tools of various types being the main export . A small company of artisan metal workers operates in a similar manner to the medieval guild structure. Farming is a combination of hydroponic indoor greenhouses and traditional agriculture, relying more on the former than the latter.
Geography
The village is set inland, in the foothills of Mt. Ikeda. The soil is rocky and poorly suited for agriculture.
Climate
The climate is classified as tropical savanna, with distinct wet and dry seasons of relatively equal length.
