Kikurok
Demographics
Most of the population is from the Southern and Eastern African Community, a bloc of largely Anglophone countries. A variety of languages are spoken here, such as Kiswahili, Kirundi, and Luba-Kasai, while English is used as a lingua franca.
Government
The three member town council is elected by all residents 16 and over and meets weekly. All meetings are open to the public and controversial issues are sometimes voted on by members of the general public.
Geography
The village is situated inland as inclement weather coming in off the coast has proven disruptive to their solar power network. The farmland is very fertile for most root vegetables due to a history of nearby volcanic eruptions. The coastline is mostly beach and lacks a suitable natural harbor.
Climate
The climate is classified as tropical savanna, with distinct wet and dry seasons of relatively equal length.
