Corps. of Lectral Incandescent Transitioning
Archivist’s Excerpt from: Alone in the Cold: The Story of Orphan Towne, its Strange History, & its Stranger Occupants, CVI 42.4
The LIT Corps., short for Lectral Incandescent Transitioning, is, like all bureaucratic agencies, temporarily established for the completion of a specific task, which is to say it goes on forever. It began as a means to transition Orphan Heights from its older, petrolium-based or even wood-based lighting systems into a lectral-based system. In other words, they wired bulbs. Overseen by the Grand Academy of Science, the LIT CORPS had plenty of its own workmen, but was known to "borrow" from other crews, like the Iron workers, brazers, and even Tramrunners.
The Corps. of Lectral Incandescent Transitioning is generally held, truth be told (and what else if not tell it?) in quite low regard among the branches of the Orphan Heights Corps. of Engineers, it being something of an odd-child-out and not really a true member of the Corps. at all. Unlike all other workmen, the LIT Corps. is only under the authority of the Grand Colonial Academy of Science itself, a unique oddity among the industrial cadres of Orphan. Won't net them any drinking buddies at the Lager than Life Pub, that's for sure.
