Orc
Orcs are a hardy species who actually prefer living in less hospitable environments in an effort to challenge themselves. They are drawn to adventure. They originated from the Elemental Spirits that worshipped Ixen, the Founder of Fire.
Their harsh living environments lead to spread out communities forming different cultures and lifestyles. Nomadic tribes, grand hordes, and heroic lineages are only a few examples.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Orcs have slightly pointed ears and rough skin in colors ranging from green to grey. They are larger and bulkier than Humans, and usually well over 6 feet tall when fully grown.
Their lower canines have developed into large tusks, while their other teeth are sharper and more fang-like than those of humans. Their noses might even resemble snouts at times. Their nails are strong enough to be considered claws.
Not as hairy as Dwarves, but the hair they do have is coarse and thick, helping to protect their most vulnerable body parts.
Growth Rate & Stages
They mature at almost double the rate of Humans until they reach adulthood at 14, after which their speed of aging slows to about match that of Humans. Although Orcs' physiques and minds degrade much less as they age than those of other races, the moment they do degrade, when they reach about 55 years of age, their entire body shuts down almost immediately.
Due to their tribal, fight-to-survive nature, Orcs generally do not provide for family members who can no longer contribute to the greater good. Therefore, the oldest known Orc only reached an age of 88.
