Dwarf
Dwarves are a hardy species who prefer living in the mountains or underground. They are quite stubborn and dislike change. They originated from the Elemental Spirits that worshipped Edar, the Founder of Earth.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dwarves are shorter than Humans, but are built much wider and stockier. They have greater potential for both muscle growth and fat deposits, giving them a very square silhouette when compared to the other races.
Hairy as they come, most Dwarves are covered in body hair, and even the women can grow long, luscious beards. Though city Dwarves may choose to shave to match local beauty standards (often set by Humans and Elves).
Their skin resembles the textures and colors of stone, ranging from marble to slate. They may also have spots of growths of hardened skin that resemble scales or rocky protrusions. Younger Dwarves often heal quickly and are generally resistant to scarring, but as they age, their skin will begin to crack, starting in places that endure the most strain.
Growth Rate & Stages
Dwarves grow much slower than Humans, reaching physical maturity around the age of 30, and only passing of old age when they approach 150.
However, as Dwarves are hardy creatures that are strongly devoted to taking care of their elders, Dwarves do have the ability to live much longer, with the oldest known reaching an age of 214 years.
