Raymund de Sade

Raymund de Sade is one of the founders, and council members of the High Council of the The Wardens Of Tempest and currently holds the title of Castelan.   He can easily be considered one of the most skilled marksman. Raymund is able to shoot the wings of a fly with his bow Stormeye in the dark of night. Melee is nothing the de Sade brother has to fear. He slices up enemies with his glaive Stormdancer from horseback or fights in a shieldwall with his sword and shield. The former being called Bloodstorm and the latter named Stormhull.    

History

  Raymund and his brother Vandil de Sade are two of a few mercenaries that were discontent with the way the clan of Folkesson was lead and as a consequence left the clan and ventured south to build a new life.   Leading the archers in the newly founded mercenary group of Hialbjorn der Gebrochene he weakened the defenders at castle Falkenklamm to ultimately take it for the companies contractor. But when Hialbjorn decided that it was time they get properly rewarded for their efforts and not hand over the castle to the contractor, Raymund supported this decision even though he was wary of the retaliation of the lord.   While besieged by Aaryd v. Eisenstein's forces he and his archers pushed back every assault on the walls with their point blank shots. It was also their arrow fire that covered the retreat of the cavalry that had sallied out to destroy the siege equipment und thus guaranteed minimal losses for the defenders during this maneuver. But even they couldn't stop the full on assault of Von Eistensteins forces enraged by the destruction of their siege equipment.   He and the other leaders of the mercenary company were put in chains and transported to the nearest city to stand trail for their insubordination after the defenders capitulated. The prisoner convoy however was waylaid by a band of north men. Seeing that their capturers are loosing Hialbjorn der Gebrochene convinced Aaryd v. Eisenstein to free Raymund and the others to help them in the fight.   Seeing the chaos and death they caused by weakening the liege lord he and the others showed remorse for their actions and were accopmanying Von Eisenstein willingly. Orsakar was the only one that needed convincing to see the errors in their ways.   As they saw the capital besieged by another band of north men, he was charged with sabotaging the food supplies and destroying the siege engines. When the sun had set and people stared to get sick from the poisoned food he quietly picked them off one by one, while Orsakar freed the horses to cause a distraction. Then Aaryd v. Eisenstein and the others attacked the camp and signaled the defenders of the city to sally out and attack them from the other side.   The siege was lifted that way and the trial began shortly after. Von Eisenstein argued on the behalf of the mercenaries that behaved honorably by not only saving his life but also by not fleeing after the battle to evade punishment. He pointed out that the city might not stand today without their exceptional courage and skill. And so Raymund and the others were pardoned and drafted into the service of the liege lord.   Over the next years Raymund trained an elite regiment of archers and scouts that greatly increased overall security along trade routes. But as the north men returned more organized and in far larger numbers even he and his elite scouts and archers were not able to keep them from plundering for long. After the countless battles, pillaging and sieges the crisis culminated in the siege of the capital. Despite the liege lords royal sacrifice of his own life the city could not be saved and the former mercenaries had to flee the burning city.   Raymund and the others decided to return to castle Falkenklamm and make it the base of operations for the newly founded The Wardens Of Tempest. The High Council's first act was to rename the rebuild castle to Oculum Tempestas.
