Hialbjorn der Gebrochene

Hialbjorn der Gebrochene (engl. Hialbjorn The Broken) is one of the founders and council members of the High Council of the The Wardens Of Tempest.   He values sacrifice, honor and duty more than anything. Sometimes he is quick to anger, but always tries to do the right thing and protecting the weak, especially the farmers and fishers of the nearby villages on Middland is more than a responsibility to him. Being the shield for those who can't defend themselves is his calling.   His helmet standing out the most under his equipment, approximating the face the warrior once wore under the thick iron.   His weapon of choice is a warhammer called Gottbrecher (engl. Godbreaker).   The helmet approximating the face he once wore stands out the most, followed by a biting rancid stench that seems to originate from beneath the full plate armor.

History

After he deserted the clan Folkesson and traveled south with Vandil de Sade, Raymund de Sade, Orsakar and Asmond.   Together they established a mercenary company and they sold their sword to make a living. Hialbjorn despised it but saw it necessary nonetheless. They got hired to fight in a lot of wars and have seen many battles but never got properly rewarded. The iron giant thought the companies services more worth then just gold, so when he got hired by another lord he took the enemies castle for himself and the company.   Refusing to hand over castle Falkenklamm angered the lord and Aaryd v. Eisenstein sent out a small force to retake it. Hialbjorn lost the monthlong siege and was apprehended and transported to the nearest city to be judged.   While traveling the prisoner convoy was ambushed and Hialbjorn der Gebrochene and the other prisoners convinced von Eisenstein that they can withstand this onslaught together. The mercenaries saw the errors in their ways and instead of fleeing they accompanied their capturer to the city to await punishment.   Finding the city besieged by the same north men that had attacked the convoy they snuck into the siege camp, destroyed the siege equipment and sbotaged the food supplies. After hours of waiting they started to kill the sick and sleeping man, causing mayhem in the camp and signaling the defenders to sally out and crush them between hammer and anvil. This maneuver worked and the beleaguering force scattered in all directions.   For this deed and the honor the mercenaries displayed, they were pardoned after Aaryd v. Eisenstein put in a good word for them. Der Gebrochene, Raymund de Sade, Vandil de Sade, Orsakar and Asmond entered into the service of the lord.   As the north men invaded the fiefdoms a few years later countless skirmishes, battles and sieges devastated the countryside and cities. Hialbjorns lord died defending his home and Aaryd v. Eisenstein accompanied the former mercenaries and exfolkessons back to castle Falkenklamm where they founded The Wardens Of Tempest and renamed the castle to Oculum Tempestas.
