Yer
Yer, called Yorth by the Awakened, is something of an outsider in Zelayan theology. A relative newcomer to the Zelayan mythos, Yer is seen as something of an estranged father figure, existing separate from the Quaternity of Urek, Kumah, Agil, and Goz, which together make up the the Aspects of the Cosmic Mother, Kainat Ana.
Zelayans were first made aware of Yer through the gift of sight by Goz, and thanks to the gifts of magick of Agil, were able to travel there in the time before the Infinite Sorrow, the burning of Kumah, began. Being outside of the Quaternity, the Zelayans were at first curious but also distrustful of this new place, their lost Father.
Thankfully, Urek's presence shined on them still in this strange place, and the Zelayans were happy to see that Agil (called Phanos by the Awakened) and Goz (called Achinos) were here, though in different forms, to watch over them, and think upon their troubles.
One major reason for the sense of unease that Yer gave to the Zelayans is that this was a place of violence unknown to them for a very long time, full of strange manifestations of nature that many saw as a twisting of the Cosmic Mother's will. Over the years, the Zelayans have warmed up to Yer somewhat, and though he is not worshiped to anywhere near the same degree as the aspects of the Cosmic Mother, his name is no longer whispered in hushed voices.
An important reason why this attitude has changed is that the Zelayans have discovered Artifacts at holy sites on Yer that draw striking similarities to the relics and holy sites of Kumah. The Zelayans have shifted their purpose as a united people from sorrow and struggle on Yer to a determination to find these sites, believed to be foreseen by Goz and made possible by Agil, and in them discover artifacts and magick that will help them end the Infinite Sorrow by putting out the fires that rage still across Kumah, World so that they might return home.
Yer is associated closely with the Beastfolk of Yorth, and is depicted variously as a male of any of their kind. Though the Beastfolk themselves do not typically worship Yer, those living in the Kingdom of Zelaya (particularly in the Veshi Valley and the sanctuary of Penagah) have begun to do so. Though the Beastfolk traditionally worshipped Ibin, the Great Owl, the Zelayans maintain that Ibin is one of the many manifestations of Yer and that they are one and the same. Thus, Beastfolk refugees living among the Zelayans have become in large part assimilated into their culture, and the Zelayans have seen how closely Beastfolk beliefs align with their own ethos.
Devout of Yer practice the domains of War, Death, Nature, and Knowledge.
