Baymore
Demographics
The cities population consists mostly of Humans, but it is also home to large Elvish, Dwarvish and Orcish minorities. Rich merchants and local nobles, almost exclusively Humans and Elves, represent the wealthiest class and mostly live in the districts along the river. The Orcish, Dwarvish, and Human labourers and fishermen live in slums alongside the lake, while the middle class merchants and craftsmen are spread throughout the city. A large number of scholars and students who either work or study at the university also crowd Baymore's streets.
Government
The city is ruled and owned by house Heywood, though the local Temple of Hlal also holds a lot of influence over local politics through the two city councils and the local nobility and merchants do get some say.
The High Council is made up of the Archpriest of Hlal, the heir of house Heywood, the elected noble representative and the elected merchant representative. It can veto decisions regarding the city made by the lord of house Heywood with a majority vote, it can pass laws proposed by the Low Council and also serves as an advisory council to the lord.
The Low Council is made up of Hlal's high ranking priests and local guild representatives and nobles. It can propose new laws, but they have to be passed by the High Council.

Defences
Baymore's walls are probably the lowest in all of Ancaepya. After the sacking of Baymore its ancient walls were torn down and house Heywood promised not to build them back up to King Marcellus Danothes as a show of good faith. The Danothes family eventually let the Heywoods rebuild the wall but limited its height to 10 feet. Turrets do line it, but the wall is much too small to support any sort of defensive machinery so the Heywoods employ a large number of magic users in their army. The city has two gates with small gatehouses.
Infrastructure
The city is home to the University of Baymore and as such doesn't lack any skilled laborers. The city is home to many small businesses with new guilds, banks and merchant companies appearing seemingly overnight, as students from rich families graduate and try out new business ideas. Magic shops are extremely common, especially on Mage's Lane. Scribe's workshops and printing presses can be found throughout the city and libraries aren't a rare sight. Other than that, there are docks on the lake, where fishing vessels and merchant ships sail in and out of the city.
