Lordship of Crozon
Structure
The region is ruled by House Crozon, who have their seat at Lanvéoc, a motte-and-bailey keep. The current Lord is Riwalen de Crozon, while his Firstdaughter Onguen de Crozon holds much of the actual day-to-day power.
Crozon is one of the last remaining bastions of Serfdom in the Duchy of Letha. Taking refuge in a Ducal city for a year and a day will sever this connection, freeing the serf from all rights and duties to the Lord.
Public Agenda
The region is a hotbed of piracy.
Crozon is a land dominated by the sea, exerting influence over both the Rade de Brest and Douarnenez Bay. They tend to have stronger ties to both Kemper and the East, supporting several ducal castles and fortresses, including the impregnable Kastell-Brest. Ships and Windships often take shelter in the harbor, and the regions around it favour stable relations and the fostering of trade routes.
Assets
The region is filled with windmills, taking advantage of the strong sea winds.
History
Between the Morgat Peninsula and the Mainland once housed the great city of Ker-Ys, reclaimed from the surrounding wetlands with an intricate series of seawalls and locks. During Cadfan's Tempest, the region was inundated when the walls failed, greatly expanding Douarnenez Bay. Much of the region remains underwater, leaving only the narrow peninsula. Ruins of the Old Kingdom still dot the landscape.
Demography and Population
An isolated region, most landbound inhabitants live, marry and die within their respective villages, or with those nearby. Few come to the area from afar and fewer still leave. It is a place of strong tradition, family units and connection with the land.
The Marie-Morgane, the merfolk of Ys-Beneath-the-Waves make use of the many caves as staging grounds for raids and infiltrations and as transitional housing for their new member who have received The Oceansong, but have not yet entered the city for Springtide.
The Jetins Kriores also make ample use of the caves for trading posts, repair bays and hideouts.
The Tempestarii, preferring the calmer waters of the Barony of Kernevodez and Biskonti Gwikastell, still frequent the region in heavy numbers.
Territories
The Lordship of Crozon, located in Northern Kernev on the Western coast of The Armorican Peninsula, is largely contiguous with a peninsula of the same name, situated between the Rade de Brest to the North and Douarnenez Bay to the South.
The Crozon peninsula holds a unique cruciform shape, a rugged coastline with smaller peninsulas breaking off its main landmass to the North, South and West. The pensinsula is defined by a mix of rocky outcroppings, pebble beaches and wetlands. There are few areas in the world with as many coastal caves.
To the North, the Rocanvel Peninsula stretches out into the Roadstead, forming a narrow passageway between itself and the Lordship of Aginense, the only entry between the waterbody and the Mor Marv. The small Bay of Roscanvel is formed to the East, between the Roscanvel peninsula and Enez-Hir, a long, slender island with a general North-South axis.
The Crozon Peninsula stretches along an East-West Axis until it reaches its only landward neighbor, the Barony of Rouzig in the East
The Southern half of the Peninsula, along Douarnenez bay, is fed by several small rivers on the peninsula, creating a marshy swampland with many small ponds. The Morgat Peninsula, with the Bay of Morgat to its East, extends into Douarnenez. Pirates and The Marie-Morgane both use the large caves in the sandstone cliffs for their hidden sanctuaries. Heather grows atop the cliffs.
On the Western coast, the wild An Hirwaz opens up to the Mor Bras.
Military
Situated along the An Hirwaz between two major waterbodies on the Armorican Peninsula, Crozon's military importance cannot be overstated, allowing the Duchy to effectively control shipping between the Mor Bras and the Painted Channel, and even trade between Fortunate Isles and the Mor Kreizdouar. Even Windships, frequently stopping in either the Rade de Brest or Douarnenez Bay are not exempt from its influence.
The entire peninsula is heavily fortified with ramparts, tunnels, and batteries, protecting against invasion, pirates and the Marie-Morgane.
Agriculture & Industry
Crozon is home to a small, but thriving fishing industry specializing in sardines and tuna.

The Lost Island is a Phantom Island, appearing only in the Feth Fiada at low tide. The Marie-Morgane have a strong presence in the area.
