Barony of Kernevodez

Structure

The barons of Rouzig keep a lonely vigil over their coastline, a home to goblin troupes and smugglers with few permanent settlers.

Public Agenda

Kernevodez relies on the sheltered waterbody of the Rade de Brest for trade and defense. They tend to have stronger ties to both Kemper and the East, supporting several ducal castles and fortresses, including the impregnable Kastell-Brest. Ships and Windships often take shelter in the harbor, and the regions around it favour stable relations and the fostering of trade routes.

Territories

Kernevodez is located in Northern Kernev, on the Armorican Peninsula. The sparsely populated barony sits between the Meneziou Are and the Rade de Brest. Its rugged coastline, filled with capes and coves, continues that of its Western neighbor, Biskonti Gwikastell.   Kernevodez shares a border with the Leoned Lordships of Aginense and Chelgenn, both across the Elorn River to the North. The crossing at Landern serves as the Westernmost crossing between Leon and Kernev. A second route, an old Kingdom road cut through the Meneziou Are to the East near the town of Sizun is the second of three crossings. The last is to the East in the Barony of Bidar.   The East and South of Kernevodez is bordered by the Barony of Rouzig.   Much of the region is taken up the the moorland and foothills of the Meneziou Are, making settlement and travel difficult.

Foreign Relations

Gwikastell has strong relations with its landbound neighbors, Biskonti Gwikastell and Rouzig, along with Lordship of Aginense and Crozon. The regions surrounding the Rade de Brest all have similar goals on the geopolitical stage, and often coordinate their efforts.   It maintains some relations with the Lordship of Chelgenn, but this is secondary to those it shares the roadstead with.
