Khios (Kay ahs)

the Prophet

Of the Nod Noch Nine, Khios is considered by theologians as the most dangerous. He is an entity of pure unpredictably, having switch sides in the Aggelomachy several times during the war. He did not side with the other Aggoles in their rebellion against Alu (God) to remain in Aldern as its Ilu (gods). Rather, his goal in the Aggelomachy seems to have been solely to create as much chaos as he could for all sides. There is a myth that off all the aggoles imprisoned in Kur after the war, Alu personally dragged Khios to the gates of hell to be banished forever.

Though hated by the others of the Nine, especially Nyx, Tyre included him in their alliance because of Khios' power. Tyre believes the three of them, Tyre, Nyx, and Khios, together could defeat Alu in battle. A notion Nyx scoffs at. At the end of the Aggelomachy the aggoles were defeated only because Alu stepped in and sweep the entire host into Kur with a single gesture. None of the aggoles consider themselves a challenge to Alu in power except Tyre. A belief Khios seems to play on with the 'king' of the aggoles.

In the mortal world Khios is largely unknown to most, outside of a few myths and legends. Something he cultivates. His followers are often disillusioned members of society ready and willing to burn the world down. He will appear in the dreams of the weak willed, often as some benevolent angel or divine being, tasking them with a destiny. It is through these 'prophecies' that the many of the obscure branches of the Trijan faith have appeared. In the early years of this new cult, Chaos will guide and protect the leader. With the seed of chaos sown, the trickster will abandon that person in time, moving on to a new project, with little care of what happens once he is gone.

Khios is always on the lookout for Illusionist. These Wizard are hard to recruit into his faith, as they are usually skeptical people. However, once he finds one, he will groom that wizard as his 'favored'. An illusionist can grow extremely powerful in his field being guided by the 'Lord of Illusions.' Once the illusionist has reached the pinnacle of his, or her, power, Khios will teach an illusion beyond what any mortal could cast. An illusion of Khios' physical form itself. When this ritualistic illusion is complete, life will channel into it. It will become solid and Khios can inhabit it as an avatar. Of course, Khios never tells the illusionist the lifeforce channeled into the avatar's creation is the caster's own life. This physical illusionary body can last decades if the ritual was preformed correctly. Often it will only survive a few years as the Magic of it deteriorates back into the Anon. Thankfully it is rare to find an illusionist powerful enough to perform the ritual. Rarer still to find one that is willing. This means there have only been a handful of decades throughout all the ages of history that Khios has been able to create an avatar and in doing so wreak havoc on the world.

Avatar

Khios' avatar is an illusionary, but solid image of himself. Albeit an idealized image of himself. To gain this body Khios must teach and convince a powerful illusionist how to create this body. The ritual will cost the illusionist his life. Something Khios 'forgets' to mention. The avatar body will last a few years, or a few decades, depending on the success of the ritual that created it. Over that time, it will slowly disperse back into the Anon and Khios's spirit will be forces out.
