Located in a repurposed temple at Sticky Road in the Pigtown district, KFC thrives as a hub of controlled chaos. Officially, the club exists as a training gym for hand-to-hand combat enthusiasts; unofficially, it’s an infamous arena for high-stakes brawling, where bets are placed despite their illegal status.   Owner: Brumurum Honorbrow   Medic: Doc Harlan Greaves   Doc Harlan Greaves, or “Stitch” as he’s known around the Kobold Fight Club, is the club’s resident medic - a grizzled, no-nonsense man with a knack for patching up the battered fighters who leave Brumurum’s ring. Instructors

Bare-Knuckle Boxing and Brawling Techniques
Instructor: “Crusher” Kai of the Iron Fist   A towering orc with fists like stone, Crusher Kai trains fighters in the art of bare-knuckle boxing and close-quarters brawling. His techniques are as effective as they are unforgiving, focusing on body blows, guard breaking, and disorienting opponents. Kai often pairs up the strongest new fighters for “initiation rounds,” quick bouts that allow him to gauge their resilience and skill.
Weapons Practice and Improvised Combat
Instructor: Skiv Gravetide   Skiv, a sly half-elf known for his association with the Guild of Thieves, teaches fighters the art of using weapons and improvised tools during combat. He’s notorious for his unorthodox approach, from wielding broken bottles to using chain whips and handaxes. Skiv’s sessions attract those interested in learning practical fighting skills for the streets, as well as a few who seek to settle old debts. Skiv emphasises agility and creativity, knowing that KFC matches don’t always play by the rules.
Endurance & Pain Tolerance
Instructor: “Ironhide” Olga   A former human mercenary with skin tough as steel, Olga leads sessions on pain tolerance and endurance. Her approach is simple but intense, with training routines that push fighters to their limits. Fighters under her tutelage are put through drills that mimic real combat conditions, from repetitive blows to constant movement. Those who train with Olga quickly learn that survival is often as important as skill.

Regular Events at KFC

Weekly Sparring Nights
Every week, KFC hosts open sparring sessions where fighters can challenge each other in no-stakes bouts, watched over by Crusher Kai or Ironhide Olga to ensure no one suffers lasting harm. These sessions give members a chance to learn from one another, test out new techniques, and build camaraderie. Weekly Sparring Nights are open to all members, attracting a wide range of participants, from seasoned fighters to curious novices.
Main Event Nights
Frequency: Bi-Weekly
Main Event Nights draw the largest crowds, filling KFC’s underground arena with raucous spectators eager to see the night’s marquee fights. Matches are announced beforehand, with contenders often boasting about their training and issuing challenges to rivals. Bets fly fast, and Brumurum oversees the proceedings, keeping track of wagers while bouncers ensure that order is maintained. These nights often feature several bouts, culminating in a main event with the evening’s top fighters going head-to-head for glory and coin.
“Grudge Match” Nights
Frequency: Monthly
Grudge Match Nights allow fighters to settle personal feuds in the ring under Brumurum’s watchful eye. These fights are no-holds-barred, often featuring brutal clashes between opponents with long-standing rivalries. Spectators are usually aware of the story behind each grudge match, adding extra intensity to the evening’s atmosphere. Brumurum and Skiv organise these events carefully, sometimes adding extra security to manage the more volatile crowds.
The Bridgeport Invitational
Frequency: Annually
The annual Invitational pits fighters from KFC against any from other fight schools in a highly anticipated competition that highlights each city's finest fighters. The Invitational draws combatants and spectators from all over Farenia. The rules are loosely enforced, and the rivalry between the schools makes for intense, often unpredictable matches. The winning side earns not only honours but substantial winnings.
The Midnight Melee
Frequency: Held on the Winter Solstice
The Midnight Melee is KFC’s most chaotic event, held at midnight on the Winter Solstice. Fighters enter the ring in teams, brawling under torchlight until only one team remains standing. All techniques are allowed, and bets soar on which team can endure to the end. This event is both celebration and chaos, with Brumurum personally awarding the champions a special “Honorbrow’s Crown” made of tarnished bronze. It’s rumoured that deals are often made between fighters and gamblers on this night, as the Midnight Melee’s high stakes attract some of Bridgeport’s shadiest characters.

Notorious Fighters

Hrothgar "Iron Fist" Stonetusk
Time at KFC: 5 years
A towering half-orc with slate-gray skin and a muscular build, Hrothgar has a scar running across his left eye, which remains half-shut, giving him a permanently menacing expression. His arms are covered in tribal tattoos, and he always fights bare-chested, showing off his scars as a testament to his endurance and experience.   Fighting Style: Brutal Brawler
Hrothgar relies on raw strength and resilience, focusing on overwhelming opponents with powerful, crushing blows. Known for his iron-hard fists, he fights without weapons, preferring close, savage strikes that aim to knock out or incapacitate his opponent as quickly as possible. His relentless fighting style has earned him a reputation as one of KFC’s most feared fighters.
Selena “Shadowstep” Voss
Time at KFC: 2 years
Selena is a wiry human with sharp features, dark eyes, and short-cropped black hair. Her movements are sleek and calculated, and she’s known for her quiet, almost cat-like grace. She wears a simple dark vest and trousers, favouring flexibility over armour.   Fighting Style: Quick Strikes and Dodges
Selena specialises in speed and evasion, making her nearly impossible to land a hit on. She favours light, precise jabs and quick combinations, targeting her opponent’s weak spots with relentless efficiency. Her skill in dodging and weaving has earned her the nickname "Shadowstep," as she often seems to vanish mid-fight only to reappear from another angle.
Norin "Bricks" Coppervein
Time at KFC: 7 years
A stocky dwarf with a shaved head and a thick brown beard, Norin has an almost immovable build. His hands are wrapped with layers of tape, and his chest and arms are heavily scarred. He wears a simple, sleeveless tunic and a thick leather belt.   Fighting Style: Defensive Grappling and Holds
Norin earned the nickname “Bricks” due to his unshakeable stance and impressive resilience. He fights defensively, relying on grappling techniques and locking holds to immobilise opponents. Norin’s approach is to wear down his adversaries slowly, breaking their will, before attempting any offensive moves. Many fighters say it’s like being crushed by stone when caught in one of his holds.
Mirella "Quickknife" Fen
Time at KFC: 1 year
Mirella is a slender, agile halfling with short, spiky auburn hair and an assortment of small scars across her face and arms. She has a mischievous grin and often wears fingerless gloves and light, flexible armour.   Fighting Style: Knife Play and Feints
Mirella specialises in quick-draw knife attacks, wielding a pair of short, blunt training knives in matches. Her style revolves around feints and sudden strikes, keeping her opponents on edge as she darts around them. Known for her agility and unpredictability, Mirella is an expert in psychological tactics, unnerving opponents with her swift, relentless attacks.
Squeak “The Rat” Hollowfoot
Time at KFC: 3 years
Squeak is a scrappy gnome with a slight hunch and a wild look in his eyes. His hair is a shock of messy curls, and he often wears patched, loose clothing that lets him slip out of holds. Squeak has a perpetual grin and a surprisingly quick wit.   Fighting Style: Evasive Tactics and Dirty Tricks
True to his nickname, Squeak fights with a style that emphasises evasion and underhanded techniques. He uses feints, eye-pokes, and swift kicks to the knees, exploiting any opportunity to put his opponent off balance. Squeak is often underestimated due to his size, but he’s notorious for finding creative ways to level the playing field. He also has a habit of using the environment to his advantage, grabbing at ropes or loose props whenever possible.   GM info / spoilers / plot hooks.
