The time after the creation of sapient species. An era of early civilizations, guided by their gods
The gods chose the Olidäe to forge the worlds first empire and taught them how to rule.
The curiosity and growing power of the Empire of Carodin leads to several major explorations and the discovery of new lands. It is the time of the biggest growth of the empire. Difficulties in controlling the new territory leads to several internal conflicts and consolidation of the imperial borders, ending the era after 300 years.
The first discovery of new lands by olidic explorers of the Empire of Carodin. The news sent shockwaves through the realm and led to massive interest about this new and exotic continent.
The second discovery of new lands by the Olidäe. The continent was later named after the month of the solar calendar where the discovery took place: Ëaqelun.
Discovered after months of endless walks through forests and grasslands, the Olidäe gave the sea the name "Enet Ilyonda" - "The Wondrous Sea".
The Grand Kingdom of Farid'zai, one of the most important realms in the history of Ëaqelun, is founded according to the official rememberence of the Grand Kingdom.
The humble beginnings of the city of Anat, founded as transfer site for trade routes between the Ilyonic Sea and the Sea of Lyaur.
The Bleak Waste Raiders terrorize the Empire of Carodin. The incursions only end after the establishement of strong fortresses and the implementation of flexible fighting forces by the Empire of Carodin. The borderlands stay dangerous however, with constant raids and skirmishes.
The Second Era of Exploration is defined by a more cautious advance of the Carodinian Empire. Explored areas are named and mapped but not settled outright. In the end, internal and external fights as well as overextension lead to almost no territory beeing added to the Empire, a stark contrast to the First Era of Exploration.
The steppes of Marat and the swamps of Yiherat, located in the western part of Ëaqelun, south of the Martirian Massiv, are discovered, named and mapped by Olidic explorers.
Toroc á Amur, the "Land of Emptiness" is explored by the Carodinian Empire. The explorations prove to be unsuccessful and are almost at their end as a rich silver vein is discovered by accident, leading to a "silver rush".
Belyas manages to cross the desert of Smali in his fourth attempt, after he has been beaten back by the hostile environment and the native tribes three times. His crossing not only marks a new era for the realm of Farid´zai but also establishes the first version of the Great Desert Road, which will later link the two parts of the realm.
Ahan, the later patron and namegiver of the realm Ahana discovers the fertile area between the Martirian Massif and the western coast of Ëaqelun, naming it Erofir.
The discovery of Silver in the desolate area of Toroc á Amur leads to a massive increase in settlers who try to gain a fortune. The rush lasts for almost thirty years, increasing the development of the region as well as exploiting most of the surface minerals. Many leave the area afterwards, as their dream of becoming rich did not fulfill itself. Most mining operations fell into the hand of the state or rich private investors but were left soon afterwards.
The end of a civil war led to a restructuring of the Empire of Carodin.
The third era of exploration is marked by a change of attitude by the carodinian explorers. Driven by the newly founded Royal Research Societies, the travels lead the explorers further away than ever and are conducted in a more aggressive manner. New lands are met with less respect but seen as opportunity to gather as much information and ressources as possible. The will and guidance of the gods, of uttmost importance for the earlier eras of expansion, are increasingly ignored for the purpose of further gathering of knowledge. This leads to many new discoveries but increases the anger of the gods on the Olidäe.
The first major expedition of Carodinian Explorers crosses the Martirian Massif and reaches the green meadows and forests to the west of the mountains. They spend years exploring and cartographing the land, naming it Sartoroc, the "Green Land", in the process.
Following the success of the First Expedition, a second one is quickly organized and tasked with gathering further knowledge of the area as well as founding a first permanent settlement.
Heejal is captured in a raid and dragged into the Desert of Shali. He returns to civilization almost six months later, claiming to have seen the The Frozen Oasis.
After more than 20 years of gathering followers, Heejal walks them into the desert to find the Frozen Oasis again.
The Cleansing is no singular event but a collective term for the turbulent times triggered by the fall of the Empire of Carodin. The expulsion of old elites still loyal to the Olidäe led to power shifts, instability and to the divergence of the successor states. Bloody cultural and racial conflicts followed quickly afterwards and often raged on for decades.
The Kaldaer were one of the most loyal groups to the Olidäe and payed a heavy price for that: they were forced out of all their settlements in the Ilyonic Sea and driven back to their homelands in the Sea of Lyaur.
A war between the Kaldaer and forces of the successor realms of the Kingdom of Édrun and the Empire of Vodjin. The Kaldaer ultimately won their independence due to their unbroken fighting spirit and the war tiredness of the successor realms.
The Exiles of Gnabanan were group of surviving Olidäe, led by the last ruler of the Empire of Carodin, Gnabanan. The Exiles occupied the Plateau of Toqamur for ten years, leading incursions and raids into Arandorion. Their defeat ended the last significant resistance of the Olidäe and is sometimes regarded as the true end of the Carodinian Empire.
The March of Ereag is founded by the Kingdom of Édrun as a buffer state to the Grand Kingdom of Farid'zai.
